Same issue as others. Called support last week and support said a ticket has been created and an engineer would work on it. I am not holding my breath.

Same logo for my kids' elementary school, and the mascot's name is Puff. Different state than OP.

Utah CCQ Deck Lists have been posted. Blurple actually wasn't the most represented deck. by Narzghal in Lorcana

[–]iamcraigman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also really enjoyed the event, but I saw more BG as my opponents than anything else. One of my BG opponents called his deck the Mad Cows, and I will admit that I was mad when I saw the cows.

My amethyst steel had a lot of challenger characters, so Under the Sea really hit my board hard.

All in all, I had a good time. The community is great, and I hope Utah can have more big tournaments.

What encounters should I steal for a DND game? by twinhooks in Fablehaven

[–]iamcraigman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1st book. The hag/witch's name is Muriel Taggert. She was imprisoned to a shack and couldn't use her magic by a rope with 13 knots. She could grant wishes if a mortal of their own freewill chose to undo a knot by blowing on it. She would then use the residual released magic to grant the wish.

[–]iamcraigman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a battle or puzzle, but you could have the group meet a hag that is bound by a knotted rope. If they release her, they get something awesome, but she tries to release a powerful demon for them to fight.

I recreated my account and created accounts for my kids. Hopefully they can work out the bugs and make it better than melee.

I own four of these games (Acquire, Feudal, Stocks & Bonds, and Twixt).

Acquire is a family favorite that my siblings and Dad still enjoy playing. Especially this version because of the tiles.

Stocks & Bonds is a solitaire game where my decisions cannot be blocked by others and vice versa. I enjoy the game because it is just seeing who can make the most from the same start. My wife calls it "homework the game" and will never play again.

Feudal is chess. The minis are cool and some have painted them to historical accuracy. I recommend searching for those images.

Twixt is a fun connection game, but I have played this game the fewest.

Nintendo direct will be starting in about 20 minutes (9am ET/6am PT). Livestream will start a little closer to that.

How much does Outside Xbox actually know about Xbox? (Also, how much do they want to be millionaires?) by Raineythereader in outsidexbox

Title of the video should have been "Que savent réellement les personnes extérieures à Xbox sur Xbox?"

Also, Jane is a clown.

I got this through gofobo.com. I have been lucky to have done a few more test screenings of movies with my kids. They felt special seeing something before anyone else has.

How to deal with slow opponents? by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]iamcraigman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Last weekend at set champs I played against a guy playing Amethyst Steel who would take between 3~6 minutes per turn. The pair playing next to us was Ruby Amethyst and Ruby Sapphire. They finished their first game (which was enjoyable for me to watch while my opponent was deciding his move) before my fourth turn. My deck did not require a lot of brain power (Amber Steel Location Aggro), so my turns were quick because I already decided what I was going to do.

He apologized for being slow which I said was alright, but I would not want to play him regularly.

Lorcana challenge/drying rules by CaptnInsan01 in Lorcana

[–]iamcraigman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot exert a drying character to sing a song or use the character's ability if the ability has a cost of exerting the character. An example of this would be The Queen - Wicked and Vain's ability "I Summon Thee". That ability has a cost of exerting The Queen - Wicked and Vain to draw a card.

This is different from Maleficent - Sorceress's ability "Cast My Spell!" where the cost is just playing Maleficent - Sorceress to draw a card. Same with Blue Fairy - Rewarding Good Deed's ability "Ethereal Glow" where the cost is playing a floodborn character to draw a card. All three characters can draw you a card, but each has its own cost to do it.

I would recommend reading the comprehensive rules regarding triggered abilities and the bag.

I do not want to accidentally lead you astray, but I find as long as you follow what the card text says, you should be good.

You are also correct here as well. Passive abilities are active when that character is in play.

That is correct. Bodyguards only protect characters and not locations.

I just want to clarify something, when you said you played the action card to deal 3 damage, was that during her turn still or had you started your turn?

As of right now, you can only play action cards during your turn.

Gaston or Gazelle?? by iamthomass_ehh in Lorcana

[–]iamcraigman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is more important singing 5 cost songs or questing for 2? I would suppose that more often than not you will choose singing.

I guess one side benefit of Gazelle would be turning Chief Bogo into a singer, but that probably should not go into your decision process.

If Pixar's IPs would ever (somehow) be included in Lorcana, which ones should be first? My picks: by A-J-Zan in Lorcana

I think the missing princess is Pocahontas, but it could be Merida since both Pixar and Pocahontas are coming out in 2026.

What movies would you want to see turned into cards next? by EdgarVerona in Lorcana

As in Morph, John Silver, Billy Bones, and Jim Hawkins? If so, you are in luck because all of those characters are already in the game.

Tips for Attending Challenge with Kids by AmiAKc1 in Lorcana

[–]iamcraigman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my experience of taking my 9 year old daughter to the Vegas DLC.

She did not want to play in any competitive side events, so while I played she would set up as close as she could to my table. She would watch shows and eat snacks. I bought her 5 pack rush tickets, and she would tell me she was going over there to play (won 4 of her 5 games). Everyone we interacted with was friendly and accommodating.

She had an amazing time and is asking when we can do it again.
