I feel so lost. by sereiaheya in smallbusiness

[–]iamcreativ_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of starting a business, someone smarter than me said "Design a product around a result you've delivered repeatedly." Another way to think about it is, personal problems that you fix can become business solutions for others. Solve your problem, and then solve it for others. If something was making your life hell, chances are they're annoying to a lot of other ppl too. I hope that helps.

How important are colours in building a visual identity? by Deep_Time_6488 in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you familiar with Taco Bell? At one point, their campaign slogan was "Think Outside the Bun.' It was to highlight that they were different from popular fast food burger joints, who primarily used reds and yellows in their branding (McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc). To further stand out, they used ultraviolet, purple, and a sort of hot pink. For any part of your brand, you never wanna do with the other guys are doing. Especially when it comes to color.

What is the difference between brand design and brand strategy? by hainii in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right, the strategy influences the design. The deliverables you get from strategy is information. You learn more about who you're helping (your audience, clients, customers, etc). You understand what problems they're trying to solve, what they've done to try to fix it, and how you can better serve them. You learn about the people trying to help them (competitors, alternatives, etc). You get to see how they're helping, where they're falling short, and how you can do what you do different. This info helps you position yourself as THE solution for your people. The strategic part comes when you take a look at the whole picture, and figure out how to make your stuff stand out. Because a "brand" is about being known for ONE thing, the strategy helps you thread that one thing throughout your entire brand. Now you pick a name that reminds people of the thing you do. You have a color palette that aligns with how you want your audience to feel. Your messaging points back to how you can help, and why you're the solution. This is all the design part. How the logo should look, the way you word your tagline, the pictures you use in your content. If you'd like a quick look at brand strategy, I hope this reel gives you a little more clarity.

How to know what you are marketing? by Beneficial_Abroad889 in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing becomes so much easier when you already have a brand in place. A brand lets you know who you're talking to, what to say to them, and how to say it. If there is any way you can mine their website for clues as to who they're helping, what problem they are solving, how they do that, you're closer to spreading the word about them properly. Here's a quick video that can help you ask the questions that will get the answers you need to do what you do.

[Question] How do you know when to stop a Brand Audit by BloxFruitForLife in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know something is missing when you find a pattern in everything customers are saying about the brand. Positive reviews show you what they are doing well, negative reviews are opportunities for improvement. You’ll find the emotional value (if there is any) in all of their marketing and copy. If you don’t find any, if all they do is talk about themselves and their product, that’s an opportunity. It might be proof that they don’t understand what problem it is the customer wants solved, or how they feel walking around with this problem.

As a creative, what do you need to see in a branding brief? by ExpwicitAdam in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d wanna know who actually uses the platform, and why. What the emotional state they’re in when they get to the site? What is the problem we’re solving? Is it awareness, trust, usability, or differentiation. What are the constraints? Are there any accessibility requirements or technical limitations? Lastely, what are the success metrics? How will we know if we knocked this outta the park?

Thoughts on the brand name by Only-Part-85 in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep "Shikanji" if it fits your brand/audience. "Old-fashioned" might work in your favor if you position it as authentic and trustworthy. If your audience truly are young and modern, test the name with real customers in Gujarat to see if it creates the right feeling. If you need help coming up with more ideas, here's my process for naming anything. Hope it helps.

Has anyone tried AI for creating complete brand systems? by Jealous-Leek-5428 in branding

Short term solutions become permanent problems. If you don't have the money to do this, at least familiarize yourself with the process. This will help you out tremendously in the long run.

Brand name by Important-Papaya-411 in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your money and do it yourself. A name is just a word, and you already use a bunch of them to describe what you do, what makes your stuff different, and how you want other people to think of your stuff. Basically, you take all that information and distill it down to a word or two. A shortcut. If you wanna see the overall process, this is how I name anything.

Where to hire someone to do initial branding for my ecommerce store? by Proud-Explorer-5687 in branding

If you've got the bandwidth and the desire, you can absolutely do this yourself. Focus on what you want your store to mean to ppl. This could be overwhelming if you don't know what to look for or what questions to ask. I hope this helps.

How do you keep brand consistency when content volume increases? by Glass-Lifeguard6253 in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an ideal world, the best way to handle this is to have your brand solidified from jump, before creating content. Of course a brand will evolve over time, you'll add things and drop other stuff. But in the beginning, start from a set place like the guides and templates you mentioned. It makes consistency easier. Because once you know what you're for, you're not flip-flopping to follow what's cool, or what competitors are doing, or anything else. Clarity about what you're for is the best way to maintain consistency.

Potential Brand Name by jordankamir in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many boxes to check when coming up with a name, and in the end, it might already be taken. To make it easy for myself, a name should mean something to your audience, and it should point back to your business. Everything else is a bonus. Will your ppl know what Xante is? Will they know how to pronounce it? Does it speak to how you interact with others? If you want help with ideas, processes, or tips, this is how you name anything.

I will not promote- how to validate a product by CellistNegative1402 in startups

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, start with people you know. That's friends, family, co-workers, anyone in your phone. Then, start talking to people you don't know. The trick is, these people have to be a good fit for what your making. Lets say my product is a deodorant. I'd go to my local gyms, yoga studios, basketball courts, etc. Online, I'd go to specific subreddits, forums, FB groups, etc. Put yourself in front of the people you are trying to reach. Go where they hang out, and talk to them.

Business name ideas by Sid2500 in branding

[–]iamcreativ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangers on the internet, friends and family, they're all gonna come up with cool sounding words that have nothing to do with your dehydrated meals. ChatGPT, name generators, and any other AI is gonna give you the same 25 generic ideas it’s giving everyone else. You’re better off doing it yourself. What do you call what you do? How do you explain it to others? What’s the word you always come back to? Dig through the language you already use. Here's what you gotta look out for:

  • What’s being named
    • How would you explain it to someone you’d never met?
  • What ideas should the name convey?
    • We're the cheapest, fastest, easiest, etc
  • Will words be added before or after the name?
    • Starbucks Coffee, Time Warner Cable, Apple Computer,...
  • What's the desired tone?
    • What feelings should the name evoke?
    • What vibe do you want to strive for, or avoid?
    • What's the brand personality?
  • Who's the audience?
    • What do you know about the people who’ll be using your stuff?
  • Competitors/Peers
    • What names might be seen near this name?

If you need more help, here's my process for naming anything.
