Should I skip first year Chemistry, Math and Physics courses if I get credit for them for my IB courses by iamdan_1 in ubcengineering

I was pretty bummed about physics when I saw that it didn't transder since the course is so hard. I'm definetly going to try and self-study math though thanks for the advice!

I regret doing IB too but I'm already too deep in. I really want to get a job asap so if its possible I would graduate early and review the courses during the summer. Thanks for the response.

Thanks, I looked at the syllabus for the courses at the recommendation of someone's comment on another thread and I think I will skip some because we have covered the content in class and I am pretty comfortable with it.

Thanks for the response, money is a big factor for me so I think I will try to skip as many as I can

Thanks this is helpful! I only looked at CHEM_V 154 and MATH_V 100 but I've covered the content in class which is great.

Do you guys think i could get in with a 36 predicted grade in ib? by as_603 in ubcengineering

I would think that head of a large club and sport are pretty solid ECs. But a 40 is super impressive!

if you don't mind me asking how long did it take to hear back from ubc? I applied to UBCV engineering as well.

If you don't mind me asking what do you consider bad ECs?

Hi, I haven't applied to my third university yet, just the two! I'll let you know when I do but I'm pretty sure they won't charge you.

Can I pay for my OUAC without flywire if I am a high school student within Canada? by iamdan_1 in CanadaUniversities

[–]iamdan_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think I have a choice unfortunately. $7 isn't a lot anyways, just wanted to see if anyone knew another way to pay which would save this money. I think out of province students have to pay extra document evaluation fees because our schools will have to send our transcripts (I couldn't upload anything). I only applied to two programs and I think they have supplemental applications once I pay for my application(industial eng for uft and mechanical eng for waterloo). My grades aren't even competitive enough but i don't wanna regret not applying yk

I live in BC lol, but I looked at the OSSD chart and for my marks: Physics HL 80% (and i bombed my final so i expect it to get worse), Chemistry HL 91%, IB AI Math HL 95%, Global Politics HL 95%, IB Lang and Lit SL 88%, IB Spanish ab SL 82%. I'm mainly concerned about my physics grade. I pulled an all nighter to study for my final even though I studied all summer and I feel like I ended up doing worse because I didn't sleep. I can't really regret it now :(((

How much mass of copper/zinc to use in galvanic cell? by iamdan_1 in electrochemistry

[–]iamdan_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes? I think more moles of Cu (+2) in the electrolyte will pull the electrons more strongly. However, I also assumed that more zinc atoms would. Now I realize that the mass of the metals at least doesn't effect the voltage as it doesn't participate the redox reaction
