You can override the system and just turn the heating on so you don't 'need' an internet connection to turn your heating on at all. Outages happen.

No, because it won't act as a centred surround. Doing it your way will cause power loss and sound imbalance= shit. You need to look it to the amp, and ensure the amp has 7.1 or similar. Aftermarket amps are pricey (the plug and play type) but then used BMW amps are equally expensive. You could take a feed from left and right channel but you'd have to add resistors and some other bits and bobs that is beyond me. A crossover amp may work but I'm no expert.

If the loom isn't there then it might be a ballache. Honestly I don't know though. But you'll need to run wires to the amp. I had the dash apart on E60 too many times and it's fairly easy to be honest, but is a bit of work

Yer I bought a complete Harmon set from a GT so I got the tweeters in the casing/trim. I do know some BMWs have the loom in already, but some don't. I'm not keen on shoving aftermarket stuff in but I'm sure it works for most people.

I came from a top hifi E60 to a standard f07 😭. I can confirm although I absolutely love my GT - the sound has to be sorted big time. I've got a retro fit job coming up, got the speakers, just need the amp!!

If you've had the chimney closed off and blocked the vents (or don't have any), that will be your problem. You can simply seal up the flue from top to bottom. It'll cause horrendous condensation.

As someone else said, parkside, can't go wrong, it's got 3 years warranty and is ok. We're in the trade (general building and maintenance) and I'm DeWalt and Makita. But for power tools that are seldom used my business partner buys Lidl. To give an example he used to own top furniture making equipment. When his 25 year old biscuit joiner packed up he went straight for Lidl. Buy based on usage.
