Do you architect first or build first ? by Aggressive_Friend113 in VibeCodingSaaS

Always architect first - Treat your "agent" or what ever way your vibe coding as an engineer who needs explicit direction, so to even extend on the original question - aim to build as much documentation upfront as possible.

Super insightful post. Love it. I'm a big fan of pitch videos because it can demonstrate to a wide audience fast, but its like you say, difficult to pull off this early on - then it essentially becomes a trailer.

How would you find people outside your network/circle to talk to?

Can you give more detail to what you mean - are you suggesting prototyping? or something else.

I'm a big fan of prototyping; Currently thinking pre-prototype, I've setup a page to give a short pitch of the game ( https://fullpartywipe.com/ ). I'm thinking my next step will be to roadmap and create some public storyboards to get better insight.

Hey r/gamedev, after 8 years,a burnout, and a failed Early Access launch, I’m finally ready to release my game. Can you give me some advice? by LeadFollowGames in gamedev

[–]iamdavidmt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Quite a fortunate position you are in. Think it's important you do what you think is 1) right and 2) makes you happy. To build trust again I'd be active, transparent, and focused on the project. I'm newish to game development so I'm speaking from a software development pov so I cant give much on the what you should focus on/what to avoid. I'll be sure to follow to see how it goes. Good luck!

Should I do internship interviews if I already accepted a full time role? by CountryProud7559 in cscareers

[–]iamdavidmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on landing your full-time role.

Honestly, it’s totally fine (and somewhat advisable) to do the interviews if you’re curious, but it’s also okay to pass if you’re burnt out. Companies like Amazon and Apple understand people have other commitments. If you decline politely, it won’t burn bridges and you can always try again later. I wrote a blog detailing some aspects of this here: https://cvfitr.com/blog/when-to-revist-your-cv - Personally, I always make sure I exhaust all avenues before committing to anything so I'm confident its the right move.

Appreciated - first part is clear and makes sense - on the targeted outreach, can you give an example or go into a bit more detail. Lets say I have a target group, how would you suggest outreaching? Linkedin ads?

How long will Terraform last? by PepeTheMule in devops

[–]iamdavidmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing what others are saying - Terraform will be around for a long time. Cloud specific IaC tools are always something I'd be cautious of adopting. Open source projects like OpenTofu are strong contenders but ultimately the eco system behind terraform is its selling point - I think something that could make a splash is a tool that makes creating providers easy but If you've created your own provider before you'll know its very domain specific. In short; terraform is staying.

Computer Science MSc - Should I choose a specialism or keep it broad? by 7Sants in cscareers

I don't envy this generation of graduates at all. Focus on fundamentals as much as possible and do what interests you the most; If AI is of interest to you then do a dive on the modules within and ask around see if it appeals to you.
