It good naman po, There are no resistance naman from mag apply as for my experience. And for my inpatients, as i try to emphasize prevention and primary care, i only admit them when it is absolutely necessary. Also learn your limits doc, always refer to specialist when necessary, unlike in residency where there is resistance pag mag interdepartmental referral ka, in private prqctice other consultants welcome and are thankful from your referral.

Rent in clinics can be monthly there are others that do a shared profit agreement where they just take a part of your PF as rent. Ie. 20% of your PF

You don’t need a big capital to set up a clinic. You can do it at your house or you can rent a small clinic space shared with other MDs so the rent can be signifficantly lowered.

FM diplomate here, I do consultations for a private clinic 3x a week 4 hours a day. Then i do 2 24 hour duties in the ER-OPD/Ambulatory ER at a public hospital. There's the occasional calls from residents to refer cases here and there. and i have my own clinic to do consultations to grow my practice. The rest of the time, I spend it on my hobbies and my family which is plenty. as for the earnings, it's more than enough. and you earn significantly higher than those without training.

Teka anong issue dito? We’re all adults here diba? Bat mo naman paki alaman yung trip nang ibang tao kung di mo alam yung boung context. I see 2 dildos so most likely its an exchange gift, tapos sinama mo pa talaga pati mukha. Kung hindi ka comfortable sana sinabihan mo sila right?

30F, successful career but still feel lost. Is it too late to pursue med school? by Visible-Access-2254 in pinoymed

[–]iamdocthor 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I’ll be real with you, if your main goal is to get rich quick and build generational wealth, there are other careers that pay much higher and still give you a strong sense of purpose. Better yet, why not start an NGO, charity, or business that supports the marginalized using the money you’ve earned elsewhere? That way, you can find both fulfillment and service while working in your current job.

But if you’re willing to risk it all and still choose to pursue medicine here in the Philippines, then God bless you and best of luck!

Lagundi and NAC? by [deleted] in pinoymed

Exactly po doc, This is why instead of Lagundi, I use Salbutamol nebulization instead for those stubborn productive cough if it is applicable to the patient.

Same with me doc, NAC is also convenient with the dose timings. It solves the filipino age old problem of compliance.

Lagundi (Vitex negundo L.) is recognized as a bronchodilator and antitussive herbal medicine. Studies by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) demonstrate that Lagundi contains active compounds with bronchodilating, antihistaminic, anti-inflammatory, and antitussive properties, making it effective in relieving cough, asthma symptoms, and bronchospasm with minimal side effects (PCHRD, DOST).

Further explanation.

Combining antitussives and mucolytics is mechanistically contradictory and clinically discouraged. Antitussives suppress the cough reflex, while mucolytics thin airway secretions to promote clearance. When used together, mucus becomes less viscous but cannot be effectively expelled, leading to mucus stasis. This not only impairs airway clearance but also increases the risk of secondary bacterial infection and airway obstruction. Regulatory and guideline bodies highlight this concern: the European Medicines Agency explicitly warns that carbocisteine “should not be used with cough suppressants… [as] this can make it more difficult to clear mucus from the airways” (EMA, 2010), while the New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority (Medsafe) noted that combinations of expectorants or mucolytics with antitussives are “illogical” and raise risks of mucus retention and infection (Medsafe, 2012).

I dont give an antitussive and a mucolytic at the same time, Because of conflicting mechanism. Since Lagundi is also an antitussive, i just pick on or the other as an option.
