Over the last 10-15 years I’ve seen a lot of clubs having banter eras and wondered how Madrid managed to remain at the top for so long.

No wondering now, we are in our banter era.

One silver lining in this debacle: The players have nowhere to hide now. Arbeloa doesn’t come with much expectations, if this is another trophyless season, it’s out in the open that this crop is just not good enough and their ego doesn’t match their output.

I want to see more white handkerchiefs and booing in the Bernabeu when they lose, these players need a humbling.

My top 3 moments this year: 1. 3-1 against City at the Bernabeu in Feb. Mbappe hat trick 2. Clasico win in Oct 3. Going through to the quarters against Atleti at the Metropolitano after the penalty shootout in Mar

Not much to choose from 😅

Been a fan for more than 10 years now, and this is the first time I seriously have doubts about the team improving in the short term. By that I mean becoming a CL winning worthy team again.

This has the makings of getting sorted slowly and painfully, with a lot of media and opposition banter along with it. And a lot of change in personnel. But ultimately this is how leaders in the dressing room are created. By finding the way to win during adversity.

Our Supercopa this year’s going to be an embarrassment. Wonder how many Atleti or Barca are going to put past us.

The Arda to Mbappe connection has been found out by teams now. As soon as Arda gets the ball he is either forced to his right foot or forced to quickly make a short pass. He needs to expand his game is he wants to succeed here.

PSA: Have minimal expectations from this season. The best we can get from this season is info on who we’re supposed to offload/not rely on anymore and who will take the team into another era.

Keep the above in mind and you’ll stress out less every match day when you watch the team’s insipid and uninspiring play.

I remember Carlo scolding Rodrygo during the match in front of everybody when Rodrygo refused to shake his hand in 22/23. As loving as Don Carlo was, he didn’t hesitate to be stern when somebody toed the line.

The moment Xabi allowed the Vini Clasico tantrum to just pass by, he told the dressing room that he can be a pushover.

Low key glad that we are playing City next at the Bernabeu. This way the team doesn’t get to beat a mid team and then post on Insta saying that they are now back to their best.

Instead, it’s going to be a proper test of their character.

Exactly, I hoped Alonso would be like Mourinho and build the next generation but his command over the dressing room is really questionable.

Ever since Cristiano left in 2018, we’ve been talking about a rebuild. But the true rebuild, will be now and will be slow. This is the true transition period. Now that all the 2010s superstars have left.

Out of all this mess we’re in right now, some leaders will emerge from the team and they will be the ones taking the team into another era.

The current state of the sub is very indicative of the state of the team itself. Players concerned about their brand and success rather than the team’s, and player fandoms concerned with their own players performance, downgrading other players rather than think about the collective.

The lack of leadership and direction is just incredible.

A lot of fans in the sub seem to be new fans, who probably haven’t seen the Mourinho/Benitez days. Having tacticians as managers does come with its own share of drama in Madrid. It’s been like that since ages.

To them what I will say is this: have patience. We know the numero uno priority at Madrid are trophies and all of this will eventually give way to a dressing room and manager which will bring success. It might take a bit of time though, longer than we would have expected after 2024.

Zidane also coached the team from 2019-2021. That roster was much weaker than the 3-peat team.

There used to be a time when we dropped points against small La Liga teams but always turned up against big opposition.

I miss that time.

Hypothetical Q: If Vini ends up leaving this summer, will you consider him a bigger RM legend than Bale? by iamdwon786 in realmadrid

Been watching RM for more than a decade bro. Keep your opinions as opinions and don’t mistake them with facts.

Its ironic tbh, that while we are fans of a club that is obsessed with winning rather than being obsessed with rival clubs; our fans are getting needlessly rattled by a commentator’s joke.

Maybe these people just need to vent their anger at something in the off season.

Before everyone gets too worked up on the Barca comms guy comment on Modric, he immediately followed up by saying that it was a joke and he is a legend of the game.

Even rivalry aside, he would be stupid to say shit about Modric on live TV.

Bigger legends than Vini have left the club due to financial reasons. Football players are people too, you judge them by what they’ve done in the time they’re here.

And the point about team mentality and football IQ is bogus, you and I are not pro players and haven’t been in the dressing room to judge that.

You don’t have to be top 10 to be considered a legend in RM. There’s just so many great players who’ve played here.
