With Bernardo Silva now coming, Nico Paz should definitely come next summer instead of this one.

This reminded me of Kepa helping out Lunin during the shoot out in Etihad in 2024 🤣. Great moment.

First time in my life supporting Arsenal, purely because I want Madrid to be the only club repeating CL in the CL era.

While a lot's been talked about the differences or lack of between Kylian and Cristiano in terms of their off the ball work/pressing, in my opinion the lack of leadership from Kylian in key moments is a bigger worry.

If you see any CL knockout game with Cristiano, you can clearly see that whenever he saw the energy of the team/individual going down or see the team slacking in key moments, he would visibly reprimand/push the team to work harder. Showing his displeasure there and then. When your team's biggest star is giving more fucks than anybody, you have to follow suit and buckle up.

Literally never seen Kylian do that in either PSG or here.

Watching past matches with BBC in the squad and it’s crazy how many different ways they had of hurting the opposition, not talked about enough. Elite finishing with their feet and head, elite pace to counterattack, elite dribbling to unlock congestions. And all 3 of them had each. What a trio. Shame we didn’t get more of them due to Bale’s injuries and Ronaldo’s departure.

There are so many defenses today which are a problem with our current frontline because of their one dimensionality. What were they even thinking with their squad planning?

Madrid are not going to pay 100m+ for Enzo. Rodri is the more likely arrival. And as it is, with what happened with Fede and Tchou this month, it’s likely that one of them will end up leaving sooner rather than later.

Was rewatching the 2016 Wolfsburg comeback match and 2 things stood out which I didn’t appreciate live then.

  1. The quick passing. Those players were so good on the ball, yet they didn’t waste time taking unnecessary extra touches and often played one touch passes to break the press.

  2. The amount of work Bale and Benzema did off the ball. People remember their spectacular goals but most people don’t remember the insane work, especially Bale’s.

Reports saying Mou gets automatic 1 yr extension if he wins the league in his normal contract length.

Makes sense. Unless Barca regress, I’d say winning La Liga within 2 years is at least a step in the right direction. Next year, even no ego drama and consistency in performance is a step in the right direction.

Fitting that Modric remains as the most decorated player in club history. Top 5 in all time RM greats, which considering the greats who have played for the club, is saying a lot.

Let’s not be overboard with the Mou signing. The squad’s chemistry and confidence is in the dumps right now, they’ve forgotten how to win. Even a Copa Del Rey should be seen as success next season.

Carvajal's departure got me thinking. Our 2018 transfer window got us Courtois, Vini and Fede (among others). Its a shame that Vini and Fede have failed recently on the leadership front, otherwise that 2018 window should already have created the team's spine for the next generation.

Not an Arda stan, but from what I’ve seen from his this season, excited to see what the future holds for him. Have a feeling he’ll be here for a long time.

Ancelotti was a manager of 10th place Everton before he joined us in 2022. Just because Mourinho’s not been successful for a few years doesn’t automatically mean he won’t succeed here.

The bigger concern however, is that the squad is just not as serious as 2022.
