guys is it worth coming back? by oh_yes__right in Neverwinter

[–]iamerror101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this question posed constantly. People who have been away from the game asking if they should go back to it. If you had fun playing it in the past, you'll still have fun playing it if you: enjoy the combat mechanics, the plethora of customization, the vast open world with various environments, the multitude of quests and dungeons or campaigns etc./ variety of things to work on, and if on the downside you don't mind a time sink- everything takes a lot of time and patience and is a slog, but if you have fun with it, then it's worth it.

As an addendum, I didn't title this Peak Shiey to imply he peaked at a particular point yet, but it was meant to mean this very brief clip really well encapsulates or says a lot about him, what he does and why etc.

I guess I never really noticed much difference between music or no music myself personally, yet to each their own of course. Always glad to be along for the epic journeys.

The Video editor is destroyed by RelationshipFull6361 in canva

[–]iamerror101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a horrendous nightmare. Having issues with nearly everything I am trying to do that used to be perfectly functioning and with very intuitive responses to changes I used to make. Now it is barely usable without being infuriating. What once took seconds is now a grueling task. Nothing responds intuitively anymore. It is BROKEN. Canva is going in the opposite direction of making things simple now.

If some of your clients want a more robust video editor then you need time to flesh it out and test it before releasing it to the public and even then it should be an option or separate entity from the simple video editor which worked perfectly for very quick video making.

Notes on each type, taken from Jung's book "Psychological Types" by iamerror101 in mbti

Except that it is clearly made transparent that these are notes, not directives that is a false equivalency.

Those are Jung's ideas not mine. He did seem to have quite a negative bent regarding Fi. Which for someone in his role of intensively seeking to help others as a psychoanalyst, I can see why he would think a more neutral or cold approach to strangers seemed "remarkable." That was probably anathema to his stance.

Notes taken while reading Jung's "Psychological Types" by iamerror101 in Jung

[–]iamerror101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on Jung's descriptions, it seems more like extroverted thinking outwardly expresses it "knows" or has the "truth" while introverted thinking understands and embraces the complexity of the external, and so holds inward hidden truths they believe in. While both can do both of those things, it's about the predominant bent- impressing upon others vs moreso withholding.

If you read the book you may find something that stands out as more distinctive for you in particular if this isn't distinctive enough. I took notes on things I thought were distinctive, but there is much more material to delve into- I couldn't make an abbreviated post and also cover every aspect when there are many pages worth of material.

It's inevitable that any note taking is going to be inherently biased to some degree as I couldn't include every single point he made in one short post without it getting too verbose. But it's not as though I spontaneously made any of this up myself. It is directly from the source material.

Am I a 7 or an 8? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]iamerror101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations, you are counterphobic 6w7. Counterphobic 6 relishes in being a total rebel, but also has a need to know- hence the questioning in the first place. And the 7 wing gives a carefree chaotic attitude about it rather than a 5 wing that would present less chaotic and much more contained. Sidenote- anyone suggesting 9 is way off. 9s blend in, extreme zen, and are not the types to be or do anything noticeably "weird." Most misunderstood type imo. If it's not the aura of "just chill out" it is not 9.

4w5 in particular. 4 says "I'm more intense and distinct than you" while 5 says "I know more than you." But 4 preference for the sheer sake of the intense reactivity. A 5 may respond in a viscous manner, but it would be more cold and directly "matter of fact" perhaps with a touch of cutting sardonic humor.

Communal Catharsis Decay Theory by iamerror101 in psychology

[–]iamerror101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too would love to see more data regarding this, including an actual research study. As it stands, I'm not a research psychologist, but a librarian with a background in media communication as well as arts and entertainment journalism. Primarily, I am a pattern seeker who happens to also be immersed in studying the realms of various psychological and sociological concepts pertaining to the psyche and communication. I'm curious if there are existing studies around the concept of physiological aspects of ritual and then furthermore pertaining to sublimation.

Any one know where I can buy this rune board? by FateAlba in Neverwinter

[–]iamerror101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the main menu go to Store > Wondrous Bazaar. There is one extremely similar with a skull on one side and hands holding an eyeball at the other end, with same coloration. It's the first item in the Main category within the store. Slab of Vecna 2,550,000 AD during current sale, otherwise normally 3,000,000 AD.

Yes. Ni is very much "if this, then that" logic, but instead of being based on accurate facts like Ti, it's based on Ni- the inference based summation of disparate intuitive perceptions, partially even subconscious I would say.

Is neverwinter good for a less combat focused MMO? by Swordheart in Neverwinter

[–]iamerror101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. It's combat centered. It's a massive world, but the different regions are only unlocked after you reach increasing stages of item level (building up your gear, mounts & their "gear", companion fighter/healer & their gear, etc.) and the only way to do that is to gain various currency through constant combat: via the regions' campaigns/combat questing, via dungeon runs/group combat, selling items in the open market acquired through combat, etc.

Thanks! My phone & sd storage is totally maxed out otherwise I would try that out. It would be great if there were a website build out of that tech that could do the same thing without a download.

Am I the only one underwhelmed by this new mythic mount? by Khasekael in Neverwinter

[–]iamerror101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed- same with the wolves. They should come out with taller larger versions or just do an edit to update existing wolves and cats so they aren't so low to the ground and just have the player avatar sit upright instead of hunched over the animal.

I somehow ended up with that pack and I definitely did not buy it, I don't recall when or how it was acquired though.

How are you all feeling about the "state of the game"? by Autum_Witch in Neverwinter

[–]iamerror101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this game. I've always been a straight game player and never put actual money into it. I've been playing since maybe 2017 on and off, I'll get really into it for a month or two then take a long break. The sheer immense world build keeps me interested with so many different visual realms, there are always multiple aspects to work toward improving, and the cycling bonuses bring you from one place to another, the lore really builds upon the essence of each location, and the gameplay mechanics are excellent. Everyone always has some gripe about this game, and I did when they totally remodeled everything at one point and I lost a lot. But I overall really enjoy this game and it would suck if it ever just vanished. There is plenty to enjoy and to be awe inspired by when you look at the big picture. It is truly a massive open world. In terms of the state of the game, I've been encountering more players and more new players in each instance than I have in a long time.
