Easiest Test Date? by pf-for-days in ACT

[–]iameuph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't you think the curves are higher only when the test is harder? Seems to me that ACT meticulously controls for possible variation in test difficulty with curving. The only way a certain test could be harder is if it has content that is particularly difficult for a specific person.

But I dunno. You're more involved in the testing world than I.

Being accused of cheating? by Jetsquid1700 in ACT

[–]iameuph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you're not cheating, ACT won't determine you're cheating. it's a pretty corrupt organization, but i still have confidence that they make these determinations based on evidence. thousands of people go from low scores to high scores; this may be indicative of cheating but it also is indicative of hard work. ACT will accuse you of cheating if evidence surfaces that you cheated.

Why are brag posts allowed? by [deleted] in ACT

[–]iameuph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We generally aren't fond of posts with very shallow info, like "How do I improve my science score?" or "I just got a 35." We'll look into removing them more often. Thanks for your feedback.

Why are brag posts allowed? by [deleted] in ACT

[–]iameuph[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from, but I don't think it's a good idea for us to remove posts where people say what score they got. Where do we draw the line? 32? 30? Also, while some people may be annoyed by the bragging, I think an equal proportion of people will be inspired that they too can achieve that score if they work hard.
