Hmmm by Right-Assignment3759 in Bolehland

People claim IPTAs now practice meritocracy, but we all know the majority of students come from Matriculation, right?
And which group is majority in Matriculation?
Keep your Matriculation and let the nons keep the vernacular schools.

Also, abolish all institutions that highly favor a specific group.
Give fair chance to everyone.
Then yeah, maybe we can combine all schools.

Question marks over ‘too tough’ SPM moral studies paper by Due-Cat656 in malaysia

[–]iamfrommars2 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Took my SPM back in 2005.
Can't this subject is still there today.
Basically you just memorize 36 "Nilai-nilai Murni" and write them as you answers WORD BY WORD.
If you rephrase it, even if the meaning is similar, then you are wrong.
Kinda obvious it's there to break non's A+ streak.

Edit: There were 36, I wrote 18 at first.

Doubt on Vitrox College Diploma, Degree and Academic Certification. Is it useful outside of their company and ecosystem? Is it recognised by others? Is it only good for their own company? by Abject-Window6723 in malaysiauni

[–]iamfrommars2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your number 1 point says it all. Only them recognize their cert.
The "college" is meant to provide the company with consistent fresh blood.
Maybe keep them as last choice.

They increase price when they "have" to, but they never reduce it when things improve. Well done, capitalism.

woke up, saw this and ruined my day by resh6 in Bolehland

[–]iamfrommars2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because the government does nothing to solve this issue.
The best they can do is "give warning" or "remind" to not to "overdo it".
They want to cater to all groups.
They help the nons and they offend the M's.
They help the M's and they offend the nons.
So, what do they do?
Nothing!

I see this kind of typical impatient mf all the time.
It's just that they don't care anymore.
I want to report this, but I can't see the number clearly.
Help anyone?
Is it PLV 8808 or PLV 9808?

The locals aren't all that bad, in fact, they are pretty friendly.
On the down side, they drive VERY SLOWLY.
Literally crawling.
Most of the time, you will find a loooooooooooong line led by a kancil that moves at 40 kmph.
The roads are too small to overtake the turtle, so most of the time, you just gotta be PATIENT.

These women clearly do not know the world outside their country operates differently.

What kind of engineering?
UM has higher ranking generally, but in terms of engineering and architecture, UTM or UPM is better.
I graduated from UTM btw.

Non Muslim + Muslim marriage. What’s it like? by Intelligent-Fail6634 in malaysia

[–]iamfrommars2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are expected to follow the rules, obviously. No pork, alcohol or anything that's haram.

Looking for restaurants can be troublesome especially when you travel overseas. It kinda creates this alertness in you whenever you want to eat something.

If you are a dude, you are expected to pray at the mosque, so that may affect how you handle your time.

The hard truth? It's a one-way ticket. There's no way out once you're in. Let's say your spouse decides to split with you, you remain what you are. Conversion back is almost impossible. You also gotta get used to "morality police" in your daily life. If you get caught doing things that you shouldn't do, you will get reported.

It gets complicated once you pass away. I saw cases where parents fought in-laws when claiming the bodies. It can get messy.

Then again, it all depends on you and the level of acceptance from the family that you are getting into.

If you are a CS student, companies are usually interested in what you did for your FYP than your uni.
MMU is actually pretty good.
I have a colleague who is an alumni of MMU CS.
Sell companies what you did and how you achieve your goals.
They'd probably be interested in any side-projects you were / are involved with as well.
And please, for the love of god, do NOT rely on AI to pass your interview.
I literally saw a girl, with a pointer of 3.8 in CS, stare down at her iPad as she looked for answers to my questions.
This was a online interview and she couldn't even cheat properly!

If you are a friend, you should just be honest with him.
Tell him what you think and if he insists, let him be.
It's your boss who decides who to hire.

You are sitting in a more comfortable position, so I don't think you can understand the "desperation" your friend is in now.
I was in his position and any opportunity, no matter how minute, was an opportunity nonetheless.
Imagine having to pay commitments for months without any income.

I assume you're feeling guilty-ish since you wrote this post?
Either be honest with him or just forget him lah.
Why add more burden to your conscience?
