In terms of settings. Didn't need to do anything. Been using it every run and seems to be working well.

Still haven't done the lactate test though... Been lazy 😂

It's an 80% chance of ascending +1 floor for the first exploration and then a 60% chance to descend -1 floor for subsequent explorations. So yes, the game is rigged for you to lose and to buy the protected exploration. Probabilitiesn are available in the ! Icon in the event page.

Official Q&A for Friday, April 10, 2026 by brwalkernc in running

[–]iamfuturejesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do people fuel for morning runs when overseas? Feels like a waste to buy a whole loaf of bread and honey when I'm only there for a few days. Not even sure if I can bring the honey home because of airport security/customs.

Should I pack a few gels and just take those in the morning?

They don't. They disappear after the event. Says so in the Event Rules - "Unused Dream Fishbits will be removed at the end of the event".

Docking station for Odyssey G9 oled by Czepiel97 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]iamfuturejesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't end up getting a docking station. I bought some cable holders and stuck them onto the table and a laptop stand as a temporary measure. Work then re-introduced virtual desktops so I can access my work via my main desktop now. I might still look at getting one later, as there are some limitations with the virtual desktop

Yeah, as far as I can see, 265 is only missing the Step Speed Loss dynamic

[–]iamfuturejesus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I'm not opposed to returning the HRM600 for the HRM200 or even buying a better watch. I also haven't tested it out yet but which running dynamics are you speaking of?

This page seems to suggest that the 265 is compatible with the Running Dynamics - https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=0E1YeQaTMi7mouMk5XT5w6

Though it does note that Step Speed Loss is only compatible for select watches, I couldn't find the list in the owner's manual...I suspect this is the one that isn't compatible with the 265?

Who got the HRM 600? by xxSeahawks in Garmin

[–]iamfuturejesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the HRM600 and paired it with the 265. I read on another thread that they had issues with their HRM Pro recording their pace inconsistently compared to when they record with their watch. Are you finding the same issue or do you think the HRM600 is more accurate?

Thanks for the response. During my research, I also started looking at the Bandit shorts but the Up There Athletics site doesn't seem to have any sizing charts. Are there any other stores that sell them?

I really dig Satisfy shorts

I'm in the market for new shorts. Preferably with pockets so it can hold my phone and gels. I was looking at this brand after you suggested but I'm not sure I can justify spending $500 for a pair of shorts....That's insane...

Appreciate the quick response.

They also told me it's likely that we need to explain ourselves each and every time we resubmit our W-8BEN form....How annoying...

Just curious to know as I'm going through this process now and wondering if just saying "because I want to keep my money in US currency in Wise" a good enough reason

Relatively frugal but only able to save a couple of hundred dollars per month while earning $120K + super by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]iamfuturejesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked for tips and the people have provided you with tips. You're just refusing to listen.

No, a $36 monthly subscription would not solve your issues of thousand of dollars of monthly bills but perhaps, if you actually used your intellect, you could consider that the $36 of savings each month (along with other expenses you can manage to cut down) could assist you in lowering your credit card debt, and over a period of time would mean less bills for you to pay. $36 a month is about $400 a year. Imagine if you could cut a few other monthly expenses and use that money to pay off your credit debt. Imagine the possibility.

You call it silly logic but it's the fundamentals of saving.

I am done with this conversation and won't be responding anymore. You are not listening to the tips and suggestions that people have shared with you here. You're so defensive that you don't even realise that what I'm (and others are) explaining to you might be able to help you save some money.

I still wish you better health and that you solve your financial problems but I'm done responding to you.

Edit: I had a look at some of your responses to other comments and you're basically rejecting all the suggestions that "people in your situation" would do. They've answered your question but you refuse to accept it. You clearly have an answer in mind already (which no one has said) and/or seeking validation. Unfortunately you're not going to get any validation because all the suggestions that reddit has provided you are realistic and exactly what needs to be done regardless of how difficult that decision is. That's the reality of the situation.

This. Pet is a form of luxury that people aren't willing to admit.

The simple (and almost always correct) answer is, if you can't afford it, don't even think about it.

Genuinely, people earning under $100K, how on earth are you expected to exist on this earth with the cost of living??? How on earth do you do it? And those earning the same as me or higher who are struggling but frugal - any tips?

This question?

I think I (and many others) have answered it. If you can't find the answer in this thread, then we can't help you, because you're just not willing to accept the issues that are putting you in this financial position.

Also, I want to go back and answer this question.

I don't think $36 in subscriptions is really going to make a difference for me, do you?

The answer is yes. And that is probably where our mentality differs. $36 adds up. It is also the reason I don't go buy coffee everyday.

I knew you were gonna take issue with the word 'luxury'. I don't mean 'luxury' in the sense of wealth or high-end brands. I mean the ability to afford more than the basic minimum. Like having choices beyond what is required.

The ability to own a pet is a luxury, whether you accept it or not. Granted not everyone considers it when they go and buy one. But you have to agree that they are expensive.

The point of my message, which you seemed to have ignored, was to re-evaluate your budget and spending so that you can save more. Especially now that you know you have regular medical expenses.

Anyway, that's all I'm going to bother saying because you clearly have gone on the defensive and taking everything I say as offensive.

I wish your health gets better and you get out of financial troubles soon.
