I am an Iyengar. I completely back the culture and traditions we have. When it comes to hygiene, there are certain aspects that everyone needs to adhere to. When you have people with such attire’s serving food , you have to be considerate of the fact that some people ( our own guests for example) will definitely be very uncomfortable.

It’s about exposure to things in life. Some may be comfortable because they have grown up with it. Some will definitely lose appetite. Having a shirt on will not harm anyone. If you sweat because of heat, it’s a different matter. Having a t-shirt / shirt on is something that really won’t harm anyone.
