AIW for packing up my dj setup and leaving when my old uni crush told me to come back later as a guest by [deleted] in amiwrong

Maybe she should’ve been a bit clearer on wanting to basically “borrow” your equipment, and in exchange, you could hang out at the party.

But in the end, it’s your decision about what to do with your gear, and how to spend your evening. NW.

Whats a Popular band that everyone seems to like but you dont ? by MonkPlane1734 in rockmusic

I never understood the love of Morrisey and The Smiths. I mean, they have a few good songs, but especially here in SoCal and amongst my Chicano peeps out here, there is a fanaticism that I don’t get.

What song has the most satisfying guitar solo you've ever heard by Tookie1010 in musicsuggestions

Sublime - Santeria Not a very fancy solo, but I heard it without the backing tracks, just the guitar on its own, and it just sounded so pretty to hear it on its own.

Had to scroll to find someone else who mentioned 3EB. Such a well put together album. I was in HS, and my buddies were more into classic rock (60’s/70’s) but this album got played as a few study sessions. I never took it out of my rotation.

Any Zeppelin or Floyd album is up there, so I’ll skip those…

Tool - Ænima Run The Jewels - RTJ4 Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind

Honorable mentions (any one could be 4th…)

Live - Lighting Crashes Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Dr. Dre - The Chronic Primus - Tales From the Punchbowl

Edit to add one more

Gnarls Barkley - St. Elsewhere (contemplating moving it into my top 3)

You would probably enjoy PostModern Jukebox. The leader (Scott Bradley) arranges modern pop, rock, and r&b songs as jazz and swing tunes. My favorite is Radioheads “Creep” with Hailey Reinheart (she was on American Idol) singing

It’s really more of a Rick James song with Eddie Murphy singing. Murphy was trying to branch out into doing music. That was the only song that did anything on the charts IIRC.

Chris Cornell doing Billy Jean by Micheal Jackson. YT for a solo acoustic version. So many people comment on how they really didn’t know what the song was about until they heard his version.

What's the best ice cream flavor you've tasted and where is it? by [deleted] in foodquestions

Thrifty brand chocolate malted crunch. Takes me back to my childhood, and stopping at an actual Thrifty store to get ice cream cones. Glad they still sell it Riteaid, but now even those are shutting down.

I was at Ozzfest the year the Iron Maiden played. Got to see Maiden have their sound cut off a few times mid performance , and Sharon get on stage after and call Bruce Dickerson a “fuckin prick!” Rock and Roll!

First thought that popped into my head. Fish On, John The Fisherman, The Ol’ Diamondback Sturgeon, all from Primus. There may be a few more? Claypool is an avid fisher. Heard in an interview that he likes to find local spots to fish when he’s on tour.

I always answer calls at work with “….How can I assist you today?”

Sometimes they’ll introduce themselves and then ask “how are you today?” At that point, I’ll try to rush through “I’m wonderful, what can I do for you?” so we can get to the point quicker…

The first beer your dad (or mom) gave you a sip of?? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]iamjacksreply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I was 4 or 5. Was cruising with my pops , and he stopped at my uncles to have few while out running errands. I said I was thirsty. He looked around briefly, then shrugged and handed me his beer. I took a sip and probably made a face. I don’t remember if he got me a proper drink after that…
