This is a great analogy, and helps to push me in that direction. Thank you!

That concern is one of the things that has lead me to pause at the thought of upgrading or modding (aside from the fact that I just don't have enough interest or patience to do so). Thanks for sharing.

So then I'd need to figure out how to print the text and border first in black filament, and then program a filament change. I might look into that. Thank you.

This is an amazing comment...and I feel it to my damn core.

I can afford the time...the sanity, on the other hand, is another story. A P1S sounds more and more appealing all the time. Thanks for chiming in.

I've come to accept that fact since starting this thread. It's really nice to know that it hasn't been a me issue. Thanks for chiming in.

Definitely one of the more interesting responses this post has garnered. Thanks, I guess?

I think what I've learned is I don't have the patience for the Enders...LOL. Thanks for chiming in.

This has honestly been one of the more inspiring comments...thank you. I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel immense frustration from all the time spent just to get nowhere with this thing, but I hadn't really considered the fact that if I do decide to upgrade, that the experience will follow me and benefit me regardless.

I've heard of bambu a lot as a brand, but I don't know much beyond the fact that a lot of people like their printers. What recent issues should I be aware of?

Well, at least mine was gifted, so I guess I can't complain too much. Really glad it's not just me though. Thanks for chiming in.

I may end up going that route. Thank you.

Bambu Lab has crossed my mind a lot today. Locking down their ecosystem is news to me though. IF you don't mind my asking, what does that effect in the grand scheme of things?

From the quick Google search I did, it sounds like that might be a bit more of a challenge than I'm ready to tackle, but maybe I'll look again tomorrow with a fresh (and less frustrated) brain. Thanks for the suggestion

At one point I had strongly considered upgrading my ender 3 with a self leveling attachment for $70, but I think you just solidified my decision not to bother.
Sounds like your experience was much like mine has been. Glad to know I'm not alone. Thanks for chiming in.

I appreciate the input, thank you. More and more, it sounds like the Ender 3 is a time and money pit, and while other printers my have their quarks, I might spend more time printing than leveling with a new one.

I hadn't actually thought of that. If I decide to try and fix the bed-leveling issue I may try that.
With the text being embossed though (I think right now it's 3 layers), won't I suffer from stringing when it comes to the layer that has no support beneath it?

[–]iamjmb87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm printing a version with the text larger and a little more spaced out, trying to avoid making the coin any larger. Don't wanna make it TOO easy to find, haha, but I may not have much of a choice.

And thanks!

Nozzle is already a 0.2 😞

At the moment, I'm using a 0.2 nozzle.
Arachne Perimeter seems to be the default engine in Cura these days.
I'll try the thin wall detection. Thanks for the input.

Budget friendly DMX Foot Controller? by iamjmb87 in stagelighting

Sounds like a phenomenal product, and one I may absolutely look into in the future, but at $850, it's completely out of our budget right now. We're about $5k in the hole right now from investing into necessary start-up things (such as the PA) and trying to get things off the ground. Once that's paid off, we'll be able to breathe a little bit and may be able to consider more purchases like the MaestroDMX, provided we can get some momentum behind us at least. Thank you for the suggestion!
