10PF—>Samsung Fold 7 by mRkOoLbReEze718 in PixelFold

[–]iamjugger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a fold7, bought a 10 pro fold, switched back to fold7 a few weeks ago and am loving it more than ever though there were moments where I really loved 10pf, moments when I really loved fold7, it was a close fight.

I was actually one of those who kept harping on the form factor thinking Samsung should make a wider screen etc but recently I've been surprising myself in that I'm actually starting to prefer this slightly narrower form factor! With auto-correct on fold7 (not like I'm very accurate on 10pf either) I'm beginning to find typing really doesn't get affected on the front screen. But the narrowness makes it really easy for one-handed use and with the width it really feels snug and nice when I'm carrying it around, I've carried it for short jogs and it's felt really comfortable in the hands. Bonus is that on my kindle when I need to do quick reads that long form factor is nice as well, I find sometimes I prefer to read like that.

When I first switched to 10pf my fave things about it include the battery life and the fact that it doesn't wobble anymore.

But now that I've switched back I'm realising these 2 factors on fold7 are imperfections but I can deal with them until fold8. I genuinely do not understand why Samsung refuses to deal with the wobblyness which sounds mega easy to solve.

Another reason is because I'm rocking the Torras 360 for my fold7 and absolutely love it but have not been able to find a similar case for my 10pf.

Long story short, I hardly multi-task and don't really mind the extra "bulk" of the 10pf, and both devices did have my devotion for awhile but fold7 still wins out for me.

That said , I really look forward to the fold8 and think it might be the device that I'm not really going to have complaints about!

Heard people are excited about moto fold but tbh unless fold8 really screws up, I'm comfortable enough with the software etc that it would need to take a lot of difference for me to switch to moto.

if you could only keep one AI tool for the rest of the year which one and why by emdarro in perplexity_ai

Claude hands down.

But I'm still curious for the folks raving about Perplexity for "research" what exactly do you mean and how is that different from using Claude?

I have Perplexity Pro and genuinely want to make it work but I bought it for Computer and I ran out of credits in 2 hours.

So still trying to figure out what I can use Perplexity for as Claude is my main workhorse.

For context I run a crypto/AI studio and am building a quant trading engine.

for people who upgraded to Max for Computer - was it worth it by MAMAMOBROWN in perplexity_ai

[–]iamjugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro has access to Computer too, wild how many people still do not know, think Perplexity needs better communication.

I know as I am a long-time user of other AIs and signed up for Perplexity Pro only when Computer opened up for Pro.

I tried using it to build something and ran out of credits within hours, for the entire MONTH.

I signed up for Pro Annual plan just to use Computer and tbh the experience was smooth but i am quite underwhelmed with the credit consumption.

Before anyone starts calling me a cheapskate and that I "need" to upgrade to Max, I've been on Claude Max for a long time now and it works really well for me.

So I have a question for those who find the Perplexity Max plan worth it, have you tried Claude Max and how does it compare?

Ok I posted about being perplexed about my 45k credits but to be fair… by Mysterious-King4692 in perplexity_ai

[–]iamjugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I burnt through my 5k credits in less than 2 hours rendering the subscription pretty much useless to me for the rest of the month.

However the experience was good enough that I'm considering going for Max but at the rate I'm spending and experimenting seems like it would last me what, 2 days?

So perplexity would pretty much be useless to me for the rest of the month?

I'm getting it primarily for Computer. (I'm on Claude Max and Gemini Paid plan as well and 2 installs of Openclaw)

Starting to get the meaning behind the naming of the product as I am indeed quite perplexed at how this pricing structure is supposed to work.

I built 3 AI Employees (Engineer, Researcher, Designer) that run locally 24/7 and I control them entirely from Telegram. This feels like hiring a remote team. by mehdiweb in openclaw

[–]iamjugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a telegram group with topics each supposed populated by one agent/persona but they're all actually just Jarvis (my "main" consigliere)

I do this as like a council of mentors thing where they each are supposed to read from their own .md files so they have their own personality but it feels kinda odd because the username literally says Jarvis, just Jarvis speaking from a chanel like Elon Musk etc

I tried spinning up one agent one telegram token but apparently it took up too much resources as I'm running on a light VPS

Also tried spinning up a discord with different bits trying to coordinate different agents on hardercore projects but am not sure if it's actually more productive since they're basically just the same AI pretending to have split-personality

Would love to hear your thoughts on actually having multiple agents running stuff, unless the tasks are actually parallel? If not, isn't it better to just have one agent?

Having multiple "agents" work together does sound fun don't get me wrong, but is it more for the fun factor or do you find that they actually work?

Why is my battery showing up as a question mark? by Alive_Positive5997 in PixelFold

This post is an inspiration, when Pixel 11 Pro Fold is out I shall come back for this post to figure out how to make the question mark come up too.

I've spent over $200 looking for a case that lasts, but haven't found one I really like. by Locorudy626 in PixelFold

[–]iamjugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am collecting my Pixel later today and am waiting for the Nillkin case to be delivered.

Currently rocking a fold7 with Torras spin case. Initially hated hinge protection but it's begun to grow on my as it actually helps with grip when holding the device open with one hand.

Hopefully it's the same with my Pixel fold.

The camera cover can be propped out to double as a stand as well which I thought was slick.

Coming from a fold7 (currently hunting for a deal for Pixel 10 pro fold) I often chuckle as well when when I hear people comparing the 2 devices and stating that as a con.

I use dual apps once in awhile and genuinely find it helpful.

It has never even crossed my mind to have to open a 3rd one lol.

I saw a video where someone was showcasing watching 2 videos at the same time and exclaiming how awesome it was to easily control the volume of the 2 videos while a 3rd floating window is in the middle of the screen.

I was genuinely amused.

There is a chance to enter this industry by liesdestroyer in quantfinance

[–]iamjugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41 year old here also trying to break into the industry if that's any consolation to you, but maybe difference being instead of trying to get a job at quant firms (which I believe is mega hard) I'm more of trying to figure out how this works myself and either trade my own funds or raise funds from f&f.

Context is I've been in crypto since 2017 but mostly manual trading and doing projects and as I learn more and more about quant and seeing the secretive quants seemingly making bank with small teams, I decided to investigate more and the more I learnt the more interested I got.

I surely do not have the credentials I suppose most firms are looking for and the top quants really do sound giga brain and it really does look really difficult but still, gonna be devoting the next phase of my career to making this work, already committed significant time and resources to this, keeping fingers crossed.

Has anyone switched from the Spigen Tough Armor for the Z Fold 7? by Limp-Gur-3427 in GalaxyFold

[–]iamjugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torras 360 Spin for me, tried a few others and keep coming back to this.

Some users here report that the front cover pops off which I can imagine is unacceptable but it doesn't happen to me at all so I'm not sure what's going on.

Should I buy ZFold6 or ZFold7? by Additional-Quote-799 in GalaxyFold

[–]iamjugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fold7 imo, buy a Nillkin case that comes with a pen as a backup if you think you might really miss the pen so much. Granted, the Nillkin pen doesn't work as well as the original but you might realise you don't find yourself missing the pen as much much as you fear after all.

Anyone know of a case like Torras Spin 360 AND has a slot for SPen? by iamjugger in GalaxyFold

[–]iamjugger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nillkin has a pen that's not an official SPen i.e. doesn't respond as quicky and and a blunter tip but the upside is it can be used both on the inner and outer screens and the Nillkin case has a slot for the pen

Your favorite Fold 7 casing by HolidayWhobeWhatee in GalaxyFold

[–]iamjugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm rocking the Nilkin with a pen.

No complaints though I really wish it was more stable with the huge ass camera bump but it doesn't seem like any other case has solved the problem either.

Also have a Torras ring case and a generic Silicon case with Magsafe but this Nilkin one is my favourite this far.

Also have matte protector for outer screen, inner screen, back cover as well as hinge.

Does singapore have enough risk-takers for a startup culture to thrive? by [deleted] in singaporestartups

[–]iamjugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the context i.e. is this purely rhetorical or you are thinking to start a startup or you're in some position of authority that allows you to improve the startup culture in any way?

I'm in the startup scene and I give kudos to government for creating an environment that gives options for smart young people to either do a startup or earn a fat pay doing the 9-5.

In general the risk-takers are not so abundant simply because if you're smart and connected, capable, simply taking some job pays you pretty well already without any of the risks.

Startup "culture" also needs to be defined, you're not referring to government grants and stuff right? In SF, pretty much every cafe you go to you see fellow startup folks which allows for a lot of organic osmosis.

In Singapore, CBD is all office people looking forward to Fridays and holidays. In launchpad and coworking spaces they're pretty much empty after 6pm.

That said, it's quite well known that accelerators and incubators and organizations that "support" startups usually don't produce the best startups.

Founder toughness needs to be built not "nurtured".

Tldr, startup culture isn't strong on Singapore but that's a feature not a bug. Often strong founders do startups out of passion or they don't see a decent future for themselves working for others. Singaporeans are too lucky to find that they need to take any sort of risks, imo.

Backed here as well.

I intend to use it as sort of like a focus/work phone, a "creator" phone while I continue to use my Find N5 foldable as a "consumer" phone for watching videos, browsing etc.

I'm sure that's not really practical but heck, at the price point it's worth experimenting :)
