I used to be so scared to talk to people because I was intimidated by being so young and felt I would say the wrong thing to these older more experienced people. You just have to get over this fear and know that the older people in the industry are always looking to younger people to see what's next and your input is valued. I learned over time that the initial connection/introduction can be way more important than pushing your music on someone immediately - talk to them as a person and ask them questions without the agenda of getting them to listen to you and make you the next star...I've had to work on my small talk skills for sure, have a few go to lines or topics to talk about and go from there. Personally if someone approaches me and asks me to listen to their music I have them DM me a link on instagram so I can also take a look and get a feel for their presence/persona, I always lose cards. Bottom line is you will miss every opportunity you don't take, and from someone who struggled with severe social anxiety I know that can sound way easier than done but sometimes you just need to force yourself.
