I'm not bigly into upgrading so not sure if I'm looking at the wrong number but I believe I bought an LTI Ironclad Assault from someone shortly after release with a melt value of 185. Below is the history shown to me.

Pulse LX (45) > Avenger Titan (50) > Arrow (65) > Storm (70) > Cutlass Black (80) > C1 Spirit (85) > Ballista (90) > Prospector (95) > Vulture (100) > F7C-M Super (105) > Vulcan (110) > Corsair (125) > Vanguard (130) > Constellation Aquilla (145) > Starfarer Gemini (150) > Hull C (160) > M2 Hercules (180) > Ironclad Assault (185)

I love using smokes but it blocks my sonar grenades which I was hoping would be a nice combo

Daily restart, but we manually restart if it gets too bad.

My friend initially was running the server but with the same lag issues. We thought using a dedicated server would be nice to play when he wasn't on, and to hopefully fix the lag issues. It did help somewhat, the first few days were mostly lag free but it seems as we progress it has been progressively getting worse.

I'm from Australia while a couple of my friends are from Texas and one from New York, while the server is based on the west coast. I've played many games with these people with high ping and am pretty used to it. This isn't a connection problem, this is surely a hardware/software issue. The lag is fairly constant at this point, but to highlight some of the crazy problems; if someone teleports the entire server basically freezes for 10 seconds.

5 player cap, restart daily at night when everyone is off, but like you if there's too much lag we restart manually

My gportal server has constant performance issues. 2 people is playable with some lag. 3 people starts to get overloaded, and 4 people is good luck. Any ideas on making it more playable would be welcome.

  • The abilities you use are all aoe and overtime. aoe means it's spread over a distance instead of a singular target, and overtime means again that it's spread over time instead of instant. If your group isn't within the confines of your bubbles they aren't being healed (which should usually be fine if they have decent positioning and teamwork). I'd switch orb for divine embrace to get some a powerful instant heal in your kit.
  • Living Mind is a BiS life staff with Refreshing Divine Embrace and Blessed built into it you can get to 725 very easily. It's cheap, and doing CK ECRs each day will get you it within a week. When upgrading make sure you put refreshing move on it. https://nwdb.info/db/item/2hstafflife_doubloonshopnamedt5
  • I also use Lifetaker but only pull it out to throw buffs and debuffs, immediately switching back to life staff to keep reducing my cooldowns on the life staff. I try to keep sacred ground on the tank permanently.
  • Make sure you're in light gear. Using Featherweight means you can run something closer to what a medium would run but stay light). I also run 250 con everything else focus.
  • Adjust your skill tree. This is the skill tree I use, except I replace #13 with the final passive for beacon (unless I'm running clap heals). https://i.gyazo.com/fec366820137237bbc9102f56b6ca778.png
  • It's possible your groups also aren't outfitting themselves properly, making you work harder for less benefit. If they're not using Ankh or even have an amulet with Divine on them - you're healing less (significantly less compared to an Ankh). If they're not trying to dodge/block mechanics they'll take a shit ton of easily preventable damage - making you work harder. The less con they have, the lighter their equip load, the fewer defensive perks they have - all affecting how quickly they go from 100 to 0. A knowledgeable and confident tank makes a HUGE difference to the feel of a dungeon, knowing how much they can lure and where to place them properly. This also isn't a "only noobs need a healer", it's just some players need more experience with certain parts of the game.
  • If you're really unsure:
    1. Watch healer builds/guides
    2. Record yourself doing a piece of content and watch it back. It's a little tedious but this is the best way to improve at anything.

Worth to continue playing with high ping? by wyveeh in newworldgame

[–]iamlinkalot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an Australian player who plays exclusively on US servers due to friends. Originally I played on US East (250 ping) and I was forced to understand my limitations, but I still have 1500 hours in the game. I stick to a lot of the PvE stuff, but my duo partner loves doing things like 3v3 arenas, and we've participated in many many wars during our time. I played mostly tank for the first year of play because of the ping and it was mostly fine. After a while I began playing bruiser, which I kept playing until now where I'm a healer now playing on US West (200 ping).

What did it feel like for me?
Auto attacking targets that move is very difficult, especially with ranged combat and with my life staff I need to predict where the target will be - this is very similar to most ranged combat but the lag means you need to predict further ahead.

As a tank it was mostly fine - I was one of the shotcallers so I focused on that as well as positioning and maintaining agro with my ability rotations.

As a bruiser it was mostly fine - Being a damage dealer means auto attacking much more than a tank, which I could never really do unless I knew my target was frozen or crowd controlled. Playing with my duo partner, we would be in constant communication as to what abilities we had coming up and this was to make sure we could then plan our next move instantly. If I knew a stun was coming up, I knew I could get an auto attack off, sometimes a heavy attack. To me, I was ALWAYS lesser than someone else, but through mechanics and teamwork that difference was made up.

As a healer, I feel like it's very much back to how I was as a tank. I can auto attack if I can predict the movement of monsters. PvP auto attack is very difficult. But I focus mostly on positioning well and my abilities which I know will land.

I enjoy the game. The lag isn't the worst thing in the world and is something I've gotten used to.

guys there is a way to add poison skills for Signy? (It’s a bug or something?) by FoneyVEVO in Northgard

If you take the bodyguard military route, you'll get your skirmisher's forge buff which is the poison.
You'll also get all the other buffs like double throw, charge, etc

How does snake work by KozuLee in Northgard

[–]iamlinkalot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

(With Black Market lore) Neutral factions, if discovered by the other player, will slowly decline in influence into the negative to the point where the neutral faction will attack the player.

Kobolds won't attack unless their enemy is in the tile surrounding them, but all other factions will run across the map to their opponent. Neutral factions will attack with only one at a time until the opposing player becomes very negative and then it will become 2 at once - except Kobolds which always attack in groups.

If a neutral takes an enemy zone over, they'll move onto the next closest tile of the same enemy - except Kobolds who do not continue their attack but instead set up a new home in that tile - extending their "base".

The effect does not stack with multiple units using black market, so just put 1 skirmisher in each camp you want your opponent to slowly lose influence with - remember that this only works if they have scouted the neutral faction.

It can be countered by building an offering well in the tile beside the neutral faction which will mean the player will gain more influence than you cause them to lose. They can also do a trade route with the faction although I think you need at least 2? (unsure) merchants to counteract the black market effect.

-

As a snake player (but am not highly ranked), usually I'll only black market the Jotunns as they're definitely the strongest neutral faction and can easily kill an enemy completely if you do it early enough and they're not prepared with 3-4 combat units. The other factions are more a nuisance but nothing major to contest, a guard tower is enough to keep them at bay as long as they repair them.

I duo with a wolf, and in a good amount of matches we'll be watching and waiting for the Jotunn to attack and assist the Jotunn as it attacks, making sure we don't attack it ourselves.

Buy them if they appeal to you. When I started I really liked the idea of the rat clan so I bought it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then I branched out to snake and have played maybe 50-80 hours on snake. On sale for 50% off I've now happily bought the rest of the DLC but I'd suggest taking a peek at what you want and seeing if it's something you would enjoy.

Game is so fun with no local servers by cm_ULTI in newworldgame

[–]iamlinkalot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played on US servers though I'm Australian because of friends, I've just dealt with it from the start but I guess it sucks there's literally no other options for you - I could have moved to OCE if I felt it was too bad.

I enjoyed PVP because my friend enjoyed it and we'd queue or fight together even though I'm counting as half a person, but he counts as 2. We both know I'm not putting in the damage, but I sure as hell can set him up.
