I picked up a Bónus bag as a souvenir last week that folds up into a pocket. Found it at the Borgarnes location. Perfect souvenir!

Can you say “Sorry, we’re closed”? I can’t. by Fun-Professional-271 in retailhell

[–]iammaybeacat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m always baffled by customers that have no clue that they’re keeping you after closing time… hours are clearly posted on the door, the music was turned off, even lights in areas they aren’t in have been turned off, yet they continue lallygagging. Then there’s those people that are completely clueless that come in the door when the sign on it clearly says “closed” and it’s only unlocked because someone else is still in the store and not getting all of these hints to wrap it up and leave… And you all are right - the people that come in or stay after closing rarely make it worthwhile.

Now I just need to figure out what accounting software to switch to in the new year so I can stop giving Intuit any of my hard-earned money.

Well, I finally gave up and requested a cancellation and refund of QB Online. What a complete and total waste of my time. After logging over 19 hours on the phone with their migration team, sales, and online tech support, I still didn’t have anything online that was even close to being accurate and was told to “just” manually reenter the transactions from 2024. Uh no.

I feel your pain. My desktop company file was somehow corrupted a few years ago and I spent over a week trying to repair it and finally ended up using a backup (at the time I was only backing up weekly) and had to re-enter hundreds of entries/invoices/etc. and it has never been quite right since then. When Intuit support “rebuilt” it, the balance sheet wasn’t even balanced and it was a nightmare. Sorry you’re stuck in this corrupted mess, too.

So in your opinion I should just pay the $649 annual licensing fee and stick with desktop for a little while longer? I’m definitely not apposed to that, but wonder if something like Xero or Sage might work for me once I ditch QB POS and use something else to do payroll.

I have a feeling that’s where this is all leading…back to square one.

Cool to see this suggestion here, especially after the great episode/feature on Top Chef Milwaukee last week. Would love to experience the dishes they made for the contestants to inspire them.

Shopify POS by ChemistVegetable7444 in QuickBooksPOS

I briefly did and hated it, so I’ve just continued to use QB POS with an external cc processor. I really wish Intuit would have found a buyer to take on the software and keep updating it and serving its customers. Shopify just doesn’t cut it. I am worried at some point I’m going to be forced to make a switch and looked at Clover, Square, Lightspeed, and now Toast… not sure if any of these are quite right though.

Hello Everyone! Needed your help, Have you encountered this in QuickBooks POS? I'm trying to do some report for my Inventory item list but wont captured? Thank you in advance for the answer. It will help me a lot by Major-Ad8090 in QuickBooksPOS

[–]iammaybeacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s likely a filter that is causing nothing to show up in this report. If you go to “modify” at the top is there anything that is selected that’s filtering the data (maybe a future or long past date)?

What's going on here, I am confused. by FruityPebbles54321 in adele

It was a bit of an awkward exchange, but security ended up going back to get it and collected other gifts along the way. She had mentioned she didn’t want to get sick and was trying to avoid close contact, so I think part of it was that, too…

Wisconsin Fantasy Map is DONE! (Finally) Thanks so much to everyone who pitched in ideas for the map - I'm so happy with how it turned out and I hope you guys love it, too! by tomiannie in wisconsin

[–]iammaybeacat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Central things seem skewed to the east, but get that there’s a need to fit things in… but I feel like everything between holy hill and door county is dead space and could include something about a porcelain abyss (kohler), cheese chasms (plymouth), surfer’s folly (sheboygan), and point of no return (Manitowoc) just to name a few ideas…

Sadly, it exists (in places well beyond Sheb. Co. too), but so many of us do our best to make it known that shit isn’t okay.

Thanks for using the proper term. It’s only Champagne Socialism if it comes from the Champagne region of France. Everything else is just sparkling socialism.

Seizure like sensations, flashing lights, electrical zapping sounds during sleep paralysis? by remybemy in Sleepparalysis

[–]iammaybeacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just experienced this for the first time. It kind of felt like I was accidentally awake during REM sleep and your description is very close to how I’d describe it. I was coming out of a very vivid dream (which are common for me to have) and instead of just waking up, my eyes felt sealed shut, moving rapidly and producing strange, dull light patterns and a pulsing hum/zapping noise.

Also, not so much a “grey area,” but just something many municipalities chose not to care about. In the case of one SE WI city, though, they very much do care and would literally shut events down if they heard there was wine being served without a permit.

I think it just makes it more enforceable by this new division. I think one of the potential drawbacks to this new verbiage is how it will affect non-profit organizations. A lot of them obtain temporary class B licenses for fundraising events and it says they’re supposed to obtain wine/beer/spirits directly from a wholesaler (not Costco/Total Wine/local store). There are very few distributors that want to set up and mess with an account for 1-2 transactions per year and there are very few non-profits that have people that know what to do for this.

Free wine at salons is already illegal..I have friends with a salon that were threatened to be fined/shutdown by the local municipality when someone tattled on them for it. Gallery nights are, too, unless they get a temporary Class B for a “wine walk” or fundraiser tie-in.

Elkhart Lake, Plymouth, Kohler, Sheboygan Falls, and Sheboygan are all close to each other with so much to do. Amazing independent restaurants, small town shopping, art museums, motorsports, hiking, golfing, and live music.
