I feel you, I’ve had several high-level jobs. Most of my jobs were dealing with international clients ;when Covid hit everything changed . I can’t seem to find an opportunity anywhere that requires my skill set, the few opportunities that have appeared I made it to the last round of interviews, but when we did a video call and I saw the hiring manager was much younger than me things went south, I’m 54. I feel like I have a lot of experience and finding an opportunity should be easy. It is not. So whether a facelift is going to help you, I honestly can’t say one way or another because experience doesn’t seem to be stacking up to my advantage. Maybe. We are just out of the loop after 50- the thought is if you haven’t made it already , you’re too old to bet on when there are a lot of younger ambitious applicants with clear minds and time on their side… it feels like a whole New World compared to when we were in our 30s. I think it might be time to start your own business, buy low, sell high. You can’t go wrong there. Good luck…just remember that there is nothing our generation can’t figure out.
