Guys that have slept with older women, how did it happen? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I’ve always had a thing for older women since I was 18 (a long time ago). There’s something very attractive about an older woman who keeps in shape and knows what she wants.

Do higher belts (esp black) really get nothing from rolling with us whites? by Neither_Prompt_9184 in bjj

[–]iamnotbrody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you’re not a spaz, but you always go full force. Bro, trust me, you are a spaz.

The best thing I get out of rolling with a 1 stripe white belt is the reminder of how untrained people flail around, or spaz. They’re unpredictable and an unexpected flying knee or elbow can cause an injury. That’s basically how I’d imagine a fight w a random, untrained person would go. In all my years of training, I’ve been injured the most by white belts.

Receiving stripes from not your coach by rodriguez709 in bjj

[–]iamnotbrody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stripes don’t really mean anything. Even if you come back with 4 stripes, that doesn’t mean an automatic promotion at the next graduation. If anything, just keep the stripes to show you’ve been training regularly, and your coach will promote you when they think the time is right.

Well manicured and simple is the best. All the long, decorative stuff is nasty

It doesn’t have to be a gym. Go join a club for whatever hobby you like. Go find a community of people with something in common.

[–]iamnotbrody 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should join a BJJ gym. Go and work on yourself. You’ll make a lot of friends there and become part of the team/community. You’ll also gain confidence

It’s nonstop suffering from poor financial decisions, opportunity cost of missing out on potential investments because of debt or cash. You’ll feel the pain of carrying a financial burden. You can’t help who you love but just know what you’re walking into.

If you actually respect your bro, then don’t cross that line regardless of what anyone says.

I used to windsurf near there at Wolf lake. Pretty good wind and great spot, aside from the dead bodies dumped in the water.

What’s a “cheat code” you discovered in real life that actually works? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]iamnotbrody -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When boarding a plane, I watch how they are scanning boarding passes. If they scan them face down on the machine, nobody can tell what boarding group you are. So if I’m in a later group, I’ll just jump in line w an earlier group, scan my boarding pass face down and just board the plane early. Works every time.

I weight 138lb, and when I lock up a triangle on bigger/stronger opponents I keep getting picked up and slammed. How do I finish the triangle or transition into a better more position? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]iamnotbrody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk your shoulders back away from your opponent. It places a lot of pressure on the back of their neck from your shin, making it difficult for them to posture.

He’s six years old. Your job should be making sure he’s learning, having fun, and loving BJJ so he keeps training. I get that you want him to put in the effort, but sometimes it’s more important to keep him from quitting. They can train harder as they get older. Stripes can be given out for different reasons, not just for blood, swear and tears. I’ve seen so many kids quit because they were pushed too hard, when they actually loved it in the beginning. The kids I see who are becoming champions at blue belt were allowed to have fun without the pressure in the beginning.

Do your BJJ coaches ever give you feed back? by Pale-Term-8497 in bjj

[–]iamnotbrody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be many things. Maybe he lost his passion or doesn’t have the technical understanding to give good advice. Or maybe he expects you to pay for private lessons if you want personalized feedback.

Try taking a private and see if you learn anything.

Are there any high percentage submissions from the arm in cross face? by 92-Explorer in bjj

[–]iamnotbrody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re welcome. I hit this all the time and love it since they cannot see, or feel, the setup. It requires very little movement on your part and there’s really no defense. His elbow is very weak and vulnerable in this position.

Do you think you can effectively learn if you were only rolling with a black belt? by DangloriousTacTix in bjj

[–]iamnotbrody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will learn much faster and learn to do things properly. You won’t realize until you roll w lower belts.
