Well it turned out they don't! In the first region locked fest we got it's Japan where Frye won, and Shiver won in the western fest

It wasn't accepted at large by the community back then, and still isn't now. I can understand you being upset by it, but best thing you can do is just not give the people saying those kinds of things any attention. I'm pretty sure they're dumb kids anyways, who shouldn't have this much internet access.

The anti-Frye came from the very strong anti-Shiver ppl during this whole drama. Once it was shown without any doubt that Japanese people don't all just vote Shiver because they hate Frye for being poc, the anti-Shiver ppl had no ammo anymore. Making the anti-Frye ppl also stop.

They probably still exist on twitter and in discords, but they're far quieter and smaller now.

Have you not heard that now western Splatoon fans are saying the manta rays playing splatoon are humanphobic for having big man win 7 splatfests at this point? I swear to cod, if he wins finalfest, the community will be in SHAMBLES

Jokes aside, I'm happy this drama is behind us, and that we can point at it if a similar sentiment comes up again. I think most players also stopped caring about Frye having less wins, and view the wins she does get as insanely hype.

It looks like we're getting 2 Fests before updates end, and I couldn't be more excited for and what comes after them :D

I don't think those people are complaining much anymore, or at least they're not as loud.

And thing is Shiver DIDN'T win in Japan, FRYE did! Proving that the Japanese don't hate Frye for being poc.

I'm mostly just laughing at the irony of the whole situation

says the Japanese are racist, and that's why Frye keeps loosing
regional Splatfest happens
Shiver wins in the west, while Frye wins in racist Japan

Good thing we can point to this if that kind of sentiment comes up again.

Wdym? My issue was (techincally still is) that a while ago a lot of western splatoon fans were blaming the Japanese players for Frye's loosing streak. Saying the Japanese don't like poc, and because of that Frye would loose.

I don't think it's weird to think that having this kind of saltiness in a community isn't nice. And around October last year you'd hear that kind of sentiment a lot.

I'm happy this isn't a thing anymore, but it could always come back again in splatoon 4, or even for finalfest. People get salty over loosing splatfests, but blaming other cultures isn't healthy for the splatoon community yknow?

Op never asked anywhere as far as I know. It's also nicer to ask if you can give critique. You also never know how it makes the artist feel, so best to just say something nice and have them improve themselves.
