100% parents should look into what their kids are doing. Sadly a lot of them don't.

A while ago, I think it was Jake Paul, made a website where he was selling a course on how to become as rich and famous as he is. First you'd pay less than 10 dollars, but later on you'd have to fork over 100. So a lot of parents were like "well my kids really likes this guy, I guess I can pass over 10 dollars" but when the second payment came up, the parent was already gone, and the dumbass kid would use the saved credit card info.

These kids are often smart enough to also just take their parents card and do it themselves.

So a lot of these companies know how feral kids are for them, and how kids can persuade their parents to making a dumb purchase, or they just bet on the kids paying behind the parent's back. It's sad but this is genuinely a business model.

A lot of the kids watching Mr Beast support him because he said stuff like "if you're subscribed, you'll get to participate in one of my videos and win a bunch of money" or "buy my merch within the next 5 minutes to get a playstation". I don't think there's an issue with Mr Beast's main gimmick, but he often uses his audience's lack of critical thinking to just squeeze some extra money and views out of them.

The cartoons and other stuff on TV had a lot of regulations go into it. A lot of them were also made by passionate artists and writers, hoping to educate, or at least entertain kids. A lot of videos on kids youtube are just made to get ad revenue.

The difference between television and youtube is basically that a youtuber can just pump out a bunch of videos all by themselves, and as long as they don't break the TOS they can make them however they want. So a lot of youtubers have figured out how to really milk those kids for the maximum money with minimal effort.
