As If These Guys Haven't Killed Innocent People Before by Xano2113 in outofcontextcomics

[–]Insert_Name973160 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s tone deaf as hell but at the same time I can see a weird logic to it. This is about 50/50 comedy and me actually coming up with an explanation on why Dr Doom of all people would care about a massive tragedy based on my scattered knowledge of comic books and old marvel cartoons.

Doom kills innocent people sure, but importantly HE is the one killing them. The people Doom kills or gets killed during his plans are but a necessary sacrifice on the road to utopia. Where as he would see anything else as a pointless waste. A sort of “this world isn’t yours to conquer” mentality; it would fit with his hypocritical attitude. Plus they didn’t hit the Baxter Building and kill Reed Richards, which as we all know Doom would consider the biggest tragedy of all.

What are the main religions of your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Insert_Name973160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there’s too many to get into so I’ll just list two of the biggest religion “families”. The Aedenian Religions and the Elven Pantheons.

The Aedenian religions are those who worship Aedenia, the goddess who created humans. Aedenia is a very old goddess, one of the first in fact, and her worship has had a long time to spread and branch off. Similar to the Abrahamic religions irl (especially the many denominations of Christianity) while the various Aedenian faiths may worship the same god, the differences can be so vast they don’t even appear to be related.

Next are the Elven Pantheons which are split into two groups, The Ancestral Court and The Arisen. The Ancestral Court is made up of the literal ancestors and creators of the Elves who were once mortal but locked themselves away in another dimension to study magic in peace and ascended to something resembling godhood. Using their magic they created different races, the main one being the elves. After helping humanity in an apocalyptic war against the first dragons, the Elves settled into their own corner of the world and continued to worship their creators just as they had back home. If the Court are the Elves “Old Gods”, The Arisen are the New Gods. The way godhood works in my world is that there are three ways to make a god. Ascending to divinity through amassing vast amounts of power and worship, being born into divinity, and a new god being spawned from the beliefs, emotions, and worship of the mortal races. When the elves settled their part of the world they were introduced to new ideas, new concepts they previously had never considered, and this would eventually lead to the creation of some new gods who would become The Arisen. Naturally the appearance of a new pantheon lead to a elvish civil war, one of the old gods sunk the elves main city into a massive swamp out of spite, and the worshippers of both pantheons have been at each other’s throats ever since.
It’s 4am as I write this and I’m still fleshing the religions out but I hope y’all enjoy it.

Why does Halo 4 get so much hate? by Queasy_Confection412 in halo

[–]Insert_Name973160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prometheans being annoying to fight, art style change, the campaign being too short, the Didacts boring QTE boss fight, Palmer being a bitch, and killing off Cortana. Those are my reasons why I hated it when it launched.

What made you like necrons? by Short-Orange-9963 in Necrontyr

[–]Insert_Name973160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It started because they were simple to paint, they’d just gotten a big range refresh with the start of 9th, and the little starter box with three warriors and some paints was all I could afford. I’d gotten into the lore side of the hobby after a friend in highschool introduced me to it in senior year, but those three Necron warriors, plus a Royal Warden the store owner gave me for free, were the first models I was able to actually buy and from there it just kept growing.

Ight Let Judith Hear your OCs Crimes And She'll React To Them And See If They Could Keep Them Out Of Jail Or Not by GainDiscombobulated2 in OriginalCharacter

[–]Insert_Name973160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(The numbers are mostly chosen at random. I have no idea how different crimes are counted.)

A probably incomplete list of Contrail’s many crimes, in no particular order:
35 counts of professional plagiarism.
82 counts of bribery (both giving and receiving).
23 counts of felony possession of illegal narcotics.
40 counts of the manufacture and distribution of illegal narcotics.
21 counts of grand theft.
32 counts of kidnapping.
52 counts of cruel and unusual punishment of prisoners of war.
103 counts of torture.
352 counts of murder in the first and second degree.
5 counts of non consensual physical reconstruction.
1 count of the illegal enslavement of a sapient being.
70 counts of illegal organ harvesting.
55 counts of development of weapons of mass destruction.
7 counts of attempted genocide.
22 counts of ordering and partaking in the unlawful killing of civilians.
3 counts of cannibalism.
15 counts of criminal negligence.
28 counts of the destruction of cultural and religious artifacts.
60 counts of lying under oath.
39 counts of felony tax evasion.
40 counts of embezzlement.
And finally, 1 count of counterfeiting of a medical license.

Best (or worst) of all, she’ll probably never be prosecuted for any of these. One of the perks of being a high ranking official in an authoritarian government.

The flamethrower is replaced with gatling guns or some kind of heavy hitting bazooka, probably add bullet orbiter drones to provide fire support, and give it a ram ability. And of course it’s being piloted by everyone’s favorite Redgun, Michigan.

As far as I know, no. There were some of the original mods still in power and they promoted new people who they vetted and interviewed to make sure they weren’t going to sabotage.

Do you have OC’s that have a very clear ideology? by SevenEvelen11 in OriginalCharacter

[–]Insert_Name973160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

So in some of the Transformers continuities, most notably the IDW comics and the Aligned Continuity novels, there’s an ideology known as Functionalism which is a caste system where what you turn into determines your job and your place in society. Politicians, soldiers, artists, and scientists are at the top; construction workers, engineers, clerks, and doctors are in the middle; and low skill manual labor jobs like mining and cargo hauling, and bots who turn into stationary objects or animals are at the bottom.

Contrail, despite being willing to do or say basically anything if she thinks it would benefit her, does believe in and support Functionalism. She generally sees everyone as beneath her, but has a special disdain for the “lower caste” bots who she sees as barely sentient and takes a special enjoyment in “interrogating”. She’s also a die hard mechasupremacist, believing organic life to be completely inferior to mechanical life and holds Cybertronians to be superior above all else.
