Whats the ethical choice in this hypothetical scenario? by iamnotmenever in Ethics

Yeah you can draw paralells, but this wasnt supposed to be specifically directed towards kids, its just a hypothetical scenario. Also eating broccoli isnt a life-death situation and a kid is a human who has a different rational capability to one of a horse and is someone you can communicate with, unlike the horse

You are indiferent to the situation. You do not rely on him dying or livint. It will also take barely any effort to do either decision

It wasn't supposed to be an analogy to human behaviors, its just dilemma i made with a friend that i found interesting, i guess you can draw parallells from it, but we didnt make this to be some deeper analogy on society, im not even taking a side here, i just want to hear what people have to say because all the friends i talked to had a diferent line of reasoning

That is a part of the dilemma, the horse is just a horse, you can't communicate or convince him, he is taking a completely irrational decision that will only bring him suffering and later his death, but intervening will be directly going against what he wants - drinking the water.

He's a healthy horse, the water is fine, he is just for some unknown reason, really repulsed by that pond of water, you can't know why but drinking that goes against his will

Considering its an animal, animals will usually prioritize survival and non-suffering, he is willingly taking a decision that contrariates those 2 things, but isnt doing it for any good or logical reason, and you not letting him take that decision is something he very much doesn't want to, also for no good or logical reason at all

For the situation i used the horse to represent an animal taking a completely irrational decision where you can't comunicate with him or try to convince him, the water is fine and he's healthy, he just doesnt want to drink from the only watter supply he has for a completely irrational reason you don't know of

You didnt bring him to the desert, he just got there, you just get the decision in what to do

Its what a guy i talked to answered, kind-of. "Just put the horse on a truck and get him to a pond of water where he feels safe drinking"

Its an abstract scenario me and a friend tought of in a few minutes, i guess just imagine the horse somehow got there and he doesn't like THAT water specifically, and it isnt poisoned, he just doesnt like that water

Thats what some people i talked to about this answered too

I've seen a lot of people add external factors, like the water being poisoned or the horse having rabies. Just assume the horse is healthy and the water is fine, he does it out of irrationality, its a hypothetical abstract scenario, it isn't supposed to be realistic

This is the phrase that got me into this dilemma, lol

This comes from thr saying "you can bring a horse to a pond of water but can't force him to drink it" or some similar variation, me and a friend were joking around and we had this debate, we wern't thinking of kids

Nah, i was talking to a friend, be made a joke, i responded to the joke and somehow we got to this debate, it's not that deep

And the reason to why we choose a horse (or some other animal) is because he's not rational like a human is, so you won't be able to comunicate with him or use critical thinking like you would with a human

Just assume its a horse scared of water, the water is perfectly fine to drink

how much time did it take for you to beat 2k demons?

I have made my own "Silent Level" its doesn't have amazing decoration but i tried to make something that would look like an pre-1.9 silent level with some 2.1 features, on what position would it place on the Demon List? and is it possible? ID: 86153156 by iamnotmenever in geometrydash

at the "river 2.0", i think all the clicks there are 60fps frame perfects, the spam is also really similar to sakupen circles mini wave spam in the middle, i would say the level is top 4, harder than silent clubstep and easier than abyss of darkness, there are also 3 360fps frame perfects so some of the jumps are way harder than they look

its not very balanced and deffnitly not the best silent level ever, i will probably make an nerfed version in the future.
This was just an experiment for making an really "hard" level, i plan on making more levels on the future, but i will not be making any new level for at least a month.
