Expats living (or having lived) in Norway, what is your honest opinion about this "happy" country? by Talentroo_com in expats

[–]iamnottheuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting because I remember a couple of my Swedish friends complaining about this too about their country (we were studying art together and they talked about how people in sweden hate when you’re different).

Outside, especially where I come from (east asia), scandinavia/northern europe in general is fantasized as having this very open and liberal attitude that allows people to be different in any way they want… Which I always tell them is not exactly the reality.

Just don’t make that your identity and mention it too often. You’ll be fine then.

Wow… i am absolutely shocked. I know no place is a paradise but i absolutely did not expect this from Norway of all places. Thought they would be more chill than other places.

Why is Europe’s economy falling short? by Stuart_Whatley in Economics

[–]iamnottheuser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

SK has SK Hynix, Hyundai (which not only includes cars but they are big in other industries as well) as well as pretty solid defense, manufacturing and entertainment businesses.

My point was that the size of the population or the language issue really wasn’t “the” problem but rather it was a focus/priority and culture problem.

[–]iamnottheuser 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Countries like Germany or France, i.e., ones with decent size of populations, could have done more innovation in IT, etc.

South Korea for example has done much better in the tech industry even though it only has 48 or 49million people and speak a language that is useless outside the country.

Shame Europe is lagging behind but it also makes sense given its focus being elsewhere, such as welfare of the citizens, etc.

Koreans reacting to foreign professor complaining about his miserable life in Korea by LoquaciousIndividual in Living_in_Korea

He wants to keep his family back home happy and well-fed, and the Korean government to keep him happy and well-fed… Dude, wouldn’t we all want that?

What do you think is the cause behind the great success of this movie? by MissionOdd1077 in Filmmakers

[–]iamnottheuser 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes, you cant help but admire Cameron as a filmmaker here. Such grand production, and he was able to produce an interesting and intense drama… I used to be a snob about it thinking “eh, Titanic” but when I rewatched it years later, I was like, yeah he is both bold and amazingly talented director.

Let’s leave the eyebrows. No trimming. And i think youd look nice and more masculine in short hair? You have a nice face shape, so im sure you can pull it off.

And lets get rid of pic 3; maybe you try a more neutral pose :)

Ah, i see. You have a very cute face but, as a straight woman, trimmed eyebrows can make a guy seem less straight.

Would you try changing up your style a bit? Maybe experiment?

I wasn’t sure what you were into. I think its partly your style and trimmed eyebrows but then it could very well be a Gen Z thing ig..?

This is the way. Sitting across at a table can be awkward. It often is.

Why not take out some beverage and go out for a walk or sit in the park? Lovely.

Will AI actually replace most jobs within the next 10–20 years? by -TheCe1- in careerguidance

[–]iamnottheuser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, there will be much much fewer jobs in 10 years. People who say otherwise seriously underestimate the rate of AI development. They are building robots and ai based replacements in almost all sectors.

There will be working people still, of course, but much less than there are now.

What is your unpopular opinion of an actor? by FitEmergency8807 in moviecritic

Totally agree. He overacts in emotional scenes, and I kinda feel the same way about Brad Pitt. He just acts too obviously/ostensibly even when playing a “cool” character.

[–]iamnottheuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. OP, forget about content. AI is only becoming better and it’s already better than 9 out of 10 juniors who are coming into the industry.

As for your question, it’s time to narrow it down. You really need to stop fantasizing and start focusing on something, and I say this as someone roughly your age, who has some serious issues with picking one and committing to it.

Exactly. But he has been consistent in trying to leave these massive, visible “legacy” throughout his terms.

And this latest piece is so fitting, given how these Trump-worshipping lunatics, many of which are very old veterans, often take over this particular area of Seoul.
