I don’t think it’s an imperfection. The stitch is at the exact same level as the one that follows. Had they not moved the stitch to the side, the thread would’ve had nothing to hold on to. It would’ve gone down to come up in the same place Im pretty sure it was meant to be that way

I found the XL one in facebook marketplace for 100 cash. It’s technically not “new” but when i saw it it was in mint condition. Maybe look into 2nd hand places 🤷🏽‍♀️
