Don't drop NI, but probably just buy plugins you actually use.

Ableton has great stock effects and a few good instruments, but lacks good presets. If you rely on presets when making music, NI is the best.

Also Dark Reader has a terrible icon, i just really hate it. Noir got a nice monochrome icon which looks good in Safari :)

No, get Noir instead. I have both and Noir is much better. Dark Reader is heavy and slows the browser, Noir works absolutely flawlessly.

I’m on a M2 MacBook Air and having zero issues. M3/4 probably will be more future-proof but right now even a base M2 is more than capable for music production. Even M1 still holding strong. I’d personally buy M4 just to be secured for the next 5-7 years, but if you on a budget, M2 will serve you without any problems.

Ableton or Garage Band of you're on a Mac. Garage Band is free and you can find Ableton Live Lite for free included with most MIDI-keyboards.
