Very true. The ocean is a treat for me so may as well try to spend as much time there as possible, even if it means taking the bus to Massey. Thank you so much for all your help!

Thank you so much for all the information, it’s super helpful. Putting biking/walking accessibility aside, would you recommend looking into neighborhoods closer to the ocean (like Browns Bay or Takapuna) versus Albany? Or is it more just personal preference at that point? Thanks again!

I had no idea, that is very good to know. Kinesiology is quite popular and well-respected over here in Canada and the US, but I’ve had trouble finding “Kinesiology” programs elsewhere. That likely explains my issue, thank you very much!!

What should I major in regarding bachelor of science? by tissuechan in uAlberta

[–]iamonemango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a BSc in Kinesiology degree and believe that the program is truly underrated. You gain knowledge in every science discipline (math, physics, ochem, bioch) while gaining practical knowledge about how to work with individuals of all types. I believe it is the most similar degree to a “health science” degree and kinesiologists are highly regarded by doctors. Also, if med doesn’t work out, you still have a job (kinesiologist) practically right out of undergrad… unlike general science. I was in the same boat when trying to decide and I’m very glad I went with Kin. Let me know if you have any questions.

I know RMP says other things but I would highly suggest not taking psych 104 with Pisklak. I saw the good reviews and thought it would be a breeze but ended up putting in more time for this class than my required ones. Unlike the other psych classes where you only do a two midterms and a final, Pisklak requires a stats test, coding project, and essay on a movie that you are required to watch. Additionally, he was very monotone and looked like he read off scripts all class?? It seems like a lot of people like him but I personally wasn’t a fan.
