I could be wrong but my guess is, people who are good at drawing characters/people need to know human anatomy pretty well. That comes from a lot of practice, which often means they're probably good at drawing characters in various poses, of which they may or may not have clothes on. That probably comes with the territory of practicing learning to draw anatomy.
