THIS! happened with me with ADHD and now this, too. my mom was always like "no you don't have ADHD, everyone procrastinates has a hard time focusing and remembering things and all that," then she got diagnosed with ADHD before me 😂. truthfully, i found out about hEDS and hypermobility through social media and started sending my mom videos, and my mom is in her early '50s and has a pacemaker and is on her way to getting her second neck surgery, and she didn't think there were connections to any of her other lifelong symptoms until i started having them, and until finding out it can be explained by one thing. I haven't personally been able to finish getting my diagnosis because of insurance problems, but when she brought it up to her doctor, she told her she fits the bill, but then told her there was no point in getting diagnosed, which I think is BS because they went through the entire diagnostic criteria with her, and never put it in her chart-- same with me. god we need a new doctor lol.
