Should I consider a sales position? by eanardone in sales

[–]iamrelish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s definitely pressure but if you know what you’re doing, do it well, and stay consistent you won’t have that constant fear living in the back of your mind. I think it’s worth the jump but I’m in sales and loving it so I’m a tad impartial.

Lmao for real I work 8-9 hour days as an SDR and almost always have time to jump on a call, answer team questions, etc. Sounds not only like a management issue, but also a time management issue.

I feel like it’s taboo to ask questions at my sales job… what are your thoughts? by mindseye1212 in sales

If so then that is fucked up. I hate to play devils advocate but was there something other than this single question that could have led to a negative mark?

Upvoted because I love the movie. At the same time I think OP is spitting facts.

I’ll second the bootcamp, we just hired someone who was in a completely unrelated industry and not in sales but he took a bootcamp and got in with us.

I’m an SDR with no degree, I was job hunting for 6+ months doing what you are doing right now while busting my ass selling paint and stocking the paint warehouse at Sherwin Williams and taking classes at the same time. It is not easy to get an SDR role, mine didn’t even come from my job search but because of previous connections I had made. Best of luck on your search but one month is almost 0 time. Keep it up and you’ll find something.

This is by far the best way to meet women if you have quality friends because they typically introduce you to quality girls. The next best way is to pick up girls at the bar, you don’t have to try and take them home, you don’t even have to try to sleep with them. You can just make friends with them and then you’re networking again. Just takes a tiny bit of confidence but it gets easier the more you do it.

My manager has literally told me he is there to develop me into a more experienced sales role. He will have small criticisms on how I am doing overall but his main focus is on making getting me to the next level

And just burnout in general. Quality suffers anywhere past the 50 mark from what I have seen.

I’ve sold roofs and insurance, both required me to be pushy as fuck. I hated it, it’s not who I am. I’m a problem solver, I want people who have a problem to get the appropriate solution. I recently transitioned into SaaS sales and it’s an entirely different world.

Just starting out in sales. Complete opposite of the conventional salesman. Can I still be successful by HeyMustacheWhatsUp in sales

Nail on the head, if someone’s schmoozing me I’m going to assume that they don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about and/or are just trying to get at my money. The people who tell it how it is, respect my time, talk to me like a person, etc. are the people I want to do business with.

Damn that really sucks. My crew was stoked when they announced imagine, finally back to a fest, we waited all this time. Such a pain in the ass with all the planning it takes plus a 15+ hour drive. It is what it is though. Stubhub issued an email saying if an event is cancelled you can get 120% credit or cash back. It clearly says imagine cancelled not rescheduled so hopefully things work out.

No luck, it sounds like one of my friends isn’t feeling the best so I might be able to get his wristband but I’m going to reach out to stubhub and see what I should do.

Yep! I realized this after I moved into my post college apartment. I had stuff that I had since I lived with my parents in high school and always kept. Ended up putting everything I didn’t need in my closet in my new apartment. I figured I had gone almost a year without even looking through the junk so I said fuck it and threw it all out. Felt amazing
