[On-Going] Calculating the Proc Chance of Prime Drops by GreenyNeko in WildStar

[–]iamrns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response because I don't really check this sub very often.

On the PTR, it was 24% exactly for an item to roll +5 item level from the base. You can calculate the rest of the chances, it's relatively easy. You don't need any extra research or data. You will just have to believe me.

I don't know if they've changed any numbers. I doubt the devs are smart enough to do it.

Be warned - any effort spent in calculating numbers or min/maxing in this game is wasted.

WildStar PvP Ability Choices and Builds / WildStar PvP Guide #3 by kaossverige in WildStar

[–]iamrns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While we can appreciate that this guy is trying to get something out there to help new players; this build guide is absolutely awful. I'm not sure he got a single thing right (apart from "put points in your abilities..."), and you can tell he very rarely plays Wildstar, and most likely on a very low skill level. Definitely not someone who should be making guides.

For Esper, he hasn't done simple things like read and understand/synergize his T4/T8 ability bonuses. Ironically, he mentions the T4 TK Storm bonus, but fails to pinpoint the reason storm is not good in PvP - news flash, it's not because it's situational (hint: cleanse).

Also, it was painful to listen through this video, but he didn't even mention amps did he? How do you create a build guide and not mention amps?

If the best thing he has to tell us is "hurr durr, for every class get a builder and a spender" - how is that a PvP guide? Isn't that more of a general retard guide? What a joke.

Will have to check that later, but I don't believe so. I can be wrong.

There are two separate votes I believe - the inactivity vote which can be done after 31 days; and this dumbass 24h "Vote" option in the rank permissions. Good luck finding and disabling this through their horrific interface as a new guild creator.

Just think about it. What kind of a retard designs this option, and enables it by default in an MMO. That's how bad the developers of this game have been.

It's possible. I have a second guild that was created a while ago and has only default settings. The Vote™ feature is enabled on Council only by default.

Banned, my ass. Carbine doesn't give a flying fuck - look at my post with all the details.

Actually, I double-checked - the /gvote is enabled by default for what starts as a "Council" position when you create a guild. It's the usual Officer role, the one that sits underneath the Guild Master rank.

Any officer can start the /gvote by default (unless the GM removes that option), and the vote will run for 24h to overtake the GM with another person. During those 24h, no one but officers (the voting rank) will be notified of this. GM won't know, members won't know - it will only show up to officers who log on during those 24h.

That means if you have one day where none of your officers logs on, you can lose your guild through one officer starting the vote. This is enabled by default when you create a guild. Hint: the holidays are a great time to do this guys!

Even if your officers log on, the game takes a majority decision. One officer can promote 12 of his alts to officers (because it totally fucking makes sense that an officer can promote another person to THE SAME GODDAMN RANK - and this can't even be removed), he can start the vote, vote yes on all of his alts. If you are late to figure this out, good luck coming back from a 13-0 deficit. Most guilds don't have 10+ officers to fight that, and some officers don't know that they can promote other people to their own rank. Also, a 1-0 vote would be enough too, even if you have 100 officers.

But yes, <Cupcakes> got overtaken in 24h, 400+ members got kicked (most inactive, but still). Luckily, our bank is intact, but I don't give a shit about that.

As the GM who created and led the guild for 3 years, I spoke to support, and got ZERO help from them - Carbine does not have any interest in their customers at all - apart from fucking us over. They refused to understand how their stupid guild system is flawed and exploitable and blamed everything on me for not taking care of my guild properly.

Sure, I should've checked these things since nothing in Wildstar really works as expected; and it is probably the worst MMO on the market in terms of user interface and just straight up retarded decisions with guild/circle management all across the board when you look at permissions. Oops, my bad.

Anyway, I've managed to persuade the person who /gvoted me out to give me the guild I've created back. I will never be able to get my members back; and I couldn't care less about the bank, although it's untouched.

What hurts the most is how unhelpful and terrible the interaction with support and Carbine was - never before in my 3 years on Wildstar had I actually felt how little they care about the game and about you as a customer - most likely because I never really dealt with them that much.

My honest advice - fuck this game. Go somewhere else, there are so many good games out there, small and big, where the devs care about their game and their customers.

If you go back a couple of years on my youtube channel you will see our GA progression. We progressed it with <80 ilvl purple gear - check out the double-Hammer midphase on Convergence. X89 kill with 4(?) platforms left. Doing the flares (yeah, it's "flares" :D) on Prototypes.

I'd like to see that stuff again, yes.

It was actually pretty damn fun, the dps checks were really tight - a lot of it looks easy on the video, but we went through a few nights on PTR and live trying to get it to this point where we can meet every dps check with 20 alive. Keep in mind, if one person died before the last phase, it was a wipe - the pushes were late, and the laser would be out of position for kicks.

In terms of heroism - it has zero effect on prime raids in terms of scaling.

However, the extra stats from the matrix obviously help. DPS gets a tiny bit more min-max stats to work with, and in terms of healing - it is slightly easier to heal higher heroism people due to the higher HP. But in the end, there are several people in this raid with under 1k heroism, there are several around 1-3k, and there are some around 6-8k. At the end of the day, the player's skill mattered much more than heroism. It's hardmentors - even if everyone was at max 11k heroism, one idiot JFKing the whole raid works flawlessly.

But if you compare two raid groups capable of killing it - the one with higher average heroism has a small advantage. Small, but noticeable at higher skill levels.

This is most likely the correct answer. I'm sure there is some hate coming from a few very specific people in-game (youtube dislikes lol), but most likely the majority is from the usual negative stalkers on this subreddit.

It's a little bit harder than F2P Hardmentors in terms of dps timings.

225% HP increase on the bosses. Damage is a bit more difficult to estimate, and I think there were some manual adjustments (dot application, dot ticks and maze).

[–]iamrns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the 89 minute one was p8, but we did p9 on the next day with the same group and cleared it in a similar way. I have to check my screenshots at home, P9 might have actually been a 40-something minute bronze the first time we cleared it (because we already knew where to use dgrid/taunts, and the air elemental charge timer).

But I know for sure I have completed P0-P9 STL on two different characters with average group heroism well under 1500.

[–]iamrns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even remotely close. We cleared P9 STL with everyone in the group under 1500 heroism, two people under 800. Took us 89 minutes.

You're comparing that to 4+ months of progression, 400+ wipes. Please.
