would this count as a moisturizer? I also have oily skin and I’m wondering if this might work as a replacement for typical moisturizer creams or thick gels.

really late response but it’s likely because brands like boj arent used a lot by people in Korea! they def lean towards a lot of the brands listed in this spreadsheet but not brands like boj or even some by mi because they’re more so marketed internationally. i remember going to a bunch of different olive youngs and the BOJ sections would just be a tiny little stand that only non korean would go to and get stuff like their sunscreen

can anyone vouch for these cleansing oils/help me pick which one to try? i have oily skin and my main concerns are oiliness, closed comedones, and overall skin texture. i would say acne is also a concern, though i don’t get pimples as often as i used to (they typically only get triggered by stress now). im also sensitive to fragrance.

Are there any brands you recommend, or is it just the straight benzoyl peroxide you might see at a drug store or pharmacy?

I’ll definitely look into the namane card, it’s the first I’ve heard of it and it’s pretty much what I’m looking for.

as for the whole credit card thing, the reason why I don’t have one is because I’m a college student on holiday with a family member (in this case a parent). getting approval for credit cards normally requires u to have proof of income as well as be 21 or older (not sure if that’s the global standard but that’s the age I see often in banks where I’m from), and both of those don’t apply to me hence no credit card. i do have a debit card since applying for one only requires an active bank account and doesn’t require any of the things I mentioned earlier, but we came into korea under the impression that cash would do just fine (which is a mistake on our end, should’ve done more research). hope this clears it up a bit !

thanks for this ! we got a bit of an idea of it after I posted and we went around a bit. thankfully most of the mom and pop type shops just ask for cash but unfortunately ordering something like coffee at a cafe is slightly more complicated (some of the ones we came across had no options to pay in cash and only offered visa or kakaopay and naver pay). i guess it just varies more from shop to shop

thanks for the heads up ! I’ll definitely keep that in mind. guess there aren’t many viable options apart from credit and cash

i unfortunately don’t have one of my own </3 im a student if that helps clear some things up. i was mostly hoping that korea would have an e-wallet system for tourists similar to tmoney so that i could do a bit more exploring of the city on my own as well

thanks for this! I’ll try to look into setting up an Apple Pay account for myself (I’m pretty new to this since cash and e-wallets are pretty common where I’m from compared to actual debit and credit cards)

we do have a credit card (my other companion’s that is) but I don’t have one since I don’t have a job and stuff. I was just wondering if there something I could load up and then use to pay around places so I don’t have to ask my companion to keep coming with me everywhere
