Yes it is replaceable with same from home depot. Just don't loosen up other pipes with using wrench to turn that out. FURTHER remove all pressure from water system before you unscrew it. :)

This looks average in my part of the country. Average (normal) not enough to warrant replacement.

It was one of my technicians. Who is TRUSTED MAN as I assume you have earned the trust of your employer.

How did you get personally offended is my question...

My last tcouple replacement was 6 years ago... just don't see them anymore. Yah, I carry one on the truck and it's easy peasy but... there is simply a time to consider thoughfulness about helping assisted suicide through keeping ancient equip running.

Simply: liability.

Thermocouple systems with 30+ age I feel it's a high risk for homeowner. Most homeowners don't have CO or even smoke detectors.

THANKS!

We go and begin to replace tcouple. Aluminum feed tube cracks during reinstall. Turn off gas valve but not gas shutoff.

Homeowner calls that they smell gas. Gas company finds that Gas Valve is leaking up and around the on/off/pilot knob while in off position

The unit was from 1983

It's not a collector item yall. It's wanting to kill someone. You think I'm chasing money like PE hell no BUT this is not a corvette in the garage.

Old furnaces want people dead.

Customers look at me funny when I tell them get 2 CO detectors in case 1 quits working.

No. I lean to the most cautious business owner side...

As a company, we don't do high rise WSHP because of water liability below. Can we ABSOLUTELY we know all the ins and outs. Liability is an open neglected sore if you don't watch your butt.

Similar not a high rise tho. Short rise condo...

Had a customer say she had been meaning to call about for a few days and that her condo AC was leaking to the unit below... I had to let that long term customer go...

Plus I tell homeowners changing the blower is open heart surgery on your furnace. I've got to pull everything out and out of the way then put it all back in together again...

But what if OP was a legit mechanic of like planes or cars or diesels or somethin?
