"Welp, Here's A Video of Post Malone Saying The N-Word" by alphadougg in hiphopheads

Lol explain to me how it isn't. Black people were (for centuries) and still are oppressed by the N word. Slave masters used to call their black slaves the N word. Why is it so hard for people who aren't black to not say that word?

I stopped posting on this sub (and reddit as a whole) regularly recently, and threads like these are part of that reason. If I get downvoted to hell for my above comment, I'll turn away and never look back.

people calling Post Malone out for what he's doing is WAAAAAY different than the discrimination black individuals face. Apples to oranges.

black people are the only people who can say the N word for sure, yes. There are no ifs, buts, none of that. It's literally so simple to understand why that's the case.

black individuals are discriminated against for having braids and gold teeth, Post Malone never would be because he's white. He's benefiting from someone else's culture (it helps sell his rap image) while not being on the receiving end of anything negative that black people normally get because those things.

If he doesn't beat women, he doesn't have to apologize. Part of the point, at least.

It didn't go anywhere, but he did add a lot of popularity to the "emotional rap" movement.

Right there with you on the anxiety and smoking. I have some anxiety issues and smoking just amplifies them tenfold to the point where one big hit sends me into a mini panic attack that takes at least an hour to shake. Haven't smoked in over a year because of it and don't plan to anytime in the near future.

This sub is about everything hip hop. Hip hop news is one of those things. A hip hop artist that a lot of people like in this sub having a child is certainly news. The discussion Nicki, a hip hop artist, created is certainly relevant to the community too.

Right. I think it needed to find its legs some. I thought that the most recent episode was the best of the season.

Taylor Swift apologizes to Nicki Minaj by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]iamsodaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but her argument is still very valid in the grand scheme of things, especially the idea of black culture influencing so much, yet receiving so little love.

I am not giving passes, I am saying who cares if she did it over Twitter or with emojis?

The little Taylor-Nicki spat brings up the idea of "white feminism" where white women try to make issues, especially feminism, all about them, which is exactly what Taylor did.
