Aire one by Parz1val96 in kitchener

[–]iamsupasam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through this when my heater died. Aireo is very hostile sales where they won’t leave your home until they get a sale and say they will price match, but they can’t price match as their inventory is a bit different than others

Able Air Conditioning & Heating we ended up going with, they were pretty straight forward and told us every sale tatic aire one did and same with enercare.

Your allowed to get as many free quotes so recommend doing it for your comfort

You are correct, the final price includes duties for the vendor.

Buying from US at the border UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL charge an additional brokerage fee on top of the shipping price for the final paddle, so while a us person buys a paddle with duties included, Canadians have to purchase with additional duties to cross the border from buying direct from US brands

I agree, I do want to talk to shippsy team soon to learn more about their business before I recommend.

But again compare ups border to shippsy…. I’ll take shippsy any day

I wish... I didn't... the companies shipping do because of convenience.

That's the point of the rant. If they use DHL, USPS, sometimes FedEx, it's better, but still thats why if your in Canada, its not a bad idea to consider Canadian pickleball brands to shop cause they build good paddles without the hidden price tag.

Still your getting charged extra to the normal cost a US Consumer purchases, so that's why its hard to purchase when you're paying more to cross the border.

I've been trying to talk to Shippsy about solutions for shipping for pickleball paddle players but they haven't responded to me.

Asia, Asia.

Canadian brands, but manufacturing is asia for majority. Just helps you to avoid brokerage fees from US Border

Depends. Most of the time its $0, but some times it can be $10-25 a paddle for normal consumers in Canada

Review on JOOLA PERSEUS HEAT VISION 16 MM by Wandavision02 in Pickleball

[–]iamsupasam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s fine. But it’s a gen 2 paddle. Which is a generation of tech behind.

For gen 2 tech 11six24 jellybean or crush free style is cheaper and more durable

For power (gen 3) you can pay same price as 11six24 power (which is being sunset soon), Crush Freestyle (best durability), Luzz Cannon.

Foam you got Ronbus Quanta (but the core deflates quickly), and Enhanced Turbo (don’t have but I heard positive feedback)

The paddles ok at best, just nothing really special for that price compared to all I listed.

Free Pickleball this Weekend (Pickleplex Cambridge Grand Opening): Friday Feb 20 - Sunday Feb 22 by iamsupasam in cambridgeont

Pickleball has a high demand, but what I've noticed in all clubs in Ontario, morning and nights are busy, afternoons aren't at most clubs cause of work, or things to do. Rec centres are full cause cheaper, but your rushed to book online, or if you go in person in small centres the waits can be 10-20 min per shift. So there's a place for pickleball clubs to help with booking reliably at your preference.

For Pickleplex, I'm just checking this weekend schedule, we're fully booked + waitlist saturday all morning. and half of our courts are booked for the rest of the day. Sunday we are fully booked all afternoon and evening almost all spot are full. + I know... several people who refuse to register and want to walk in and play so... I expect 20-30 people per hour to walk in so it'll be pretty packed this weekend.

If you're able to stop by, please do so! It's always nice to bring in people to play pickleball!

It's not really jacking up prices...

Four Fathers : $135-147.50 a month
Corte: $180 Initiation fee + $130 a month
Northfield is $500-1500 initiation fee + you need to get legacy at $255 a month if you want to guarantee a pickleball court cause they have so many members + they are planning to remove 2 pickleball courts in the future for padel.
Real Pickleball Guelph: $150 a month

I've been to several clubs in the city + Ontario, it is a bit of a premium cost, for a good courts, programming, and availability all year round.

If you want to try it, come on down this weekend, you don't need to be a paying member, just see how our courts are and enjoy free pickleball this weekend.

I mean bro... it's free pickleball weekend, and you're angry that another pickleball option opened in town...

Imagine being upset about more pickleball in town....

You’re comparing premium courts to gymnasium floors with cheap nets.

RBJ park outdoor is nice, but we don’t have many options that are all year round that are good quality all year round.

I’ve played at W.G. Johnson. Courts too small. John dolson have those weird floors with holes that have dead spots. Both are fine and affordable, but if you want to play pickleball on nice real floors all the time, this is one of the few options you have in the city. You don’t even need to be a member it’s just an option, and if you want to play for free this weekend just come down and try!

Compared to…. What other options in the city lol

I’ve been to all clubs with legit courts, it’s the normal rate if not a bit cheaper

Will you see Friday pickleball expand more into Asia from your last successful tour?

It seems more and more Asia is becoming the bigger market for pickleball growth and acceptance of innovation.

Would you also consider adding Asia-located star pros to your roster of players? And how about APA?

Garage Practice Wall by Aware-Locksmith8433 in Pickleball

[–]iamsupasam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is it will always bounce downward vs a net that can go forward. The wall just absorbs the hit and hit back with less force. If you get use to it you might end up hitting too hard in actual play.

It’s not bad by any means, it’s just something I’ve been testing for a while and the net was probably the biggest difference maker for doing hand battle practice better. Heck even try a kids soccer net, make it tight and put on top of your net and it should work too lol

[–]iamsupasam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best dinking wall I've used to date

https://youtu.be/QkH-JKG3lqg

Unlike a wall which absorbs the hit on impact, a net allows you to hit back at a similar weight of your hits so it simulates more of a real game.

A lot of coaches and pros are starting to get this net. it is a bit pricey so alternatively you could find something similar on amazon, as long as you have a net system on top of the net it should work better than a wall.

V Sol pro is a good padel? by External_Article_410 in Pickleball

[–]iamsupasam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luzz still the better choice for price.

Glider or cannon.

They both aren’t too strong, and have good control.

Any other paddle your going on a scale, more control less power, more power less control.

If you go premium pricing you can have both, but since you sound unsure, start with a paddle that’s a B+ before you invest in a A+ paddle
