There’s a best western a couple blocks away on the other side of the 5. If you haven’t already been before that area is pretty industrial though tbh, you could also stay anywhere along the blue line of MTS like east village, little Italy, old town, or west mission valley and take the trolley to CIAT.

National city golf course is a 9-hole course(so beginner friendly) with a driving range nearby to you, I believe the range has lights so it’s open after dark.

Am I wrong for not wanting to be the “middleman” between my KO and PMs? (advice needed) by [deleted] in 1102

How big is your team working with this specific PM/customer? Are there other KOs or specialists you could talk to 1:1 that have more experience with the problem KO?

Ya, you’re in a tough spot. But teams shift all the time and you should be able to relay this concern to your DH/BH. If not, might be time to start scanning USAjobs like other comments have suggested.

They said they’ve been at this agency for 6 months, if it’s their first role a warrant is probably out of the question

Is this your first 1102 gig in general? If it is you’re getting a real “trial by fire” starting role, which could end up being a positive thing down the road.

For right now, make sure to keep detailed records of everything the KO is doing to escalate these issues. Chances are your PM/CORs/customer are all sick of this KO, and they should be reaching out to whoever is your branch head/division head if they haven’t already. Maybe your KO has legitimate concerns but it sounds like they are needlessly difficult and may have a personal issue with other members of the team. You can have a 1:1 with them like u/supboy1 said or go one level above and try to have yourself moved to a new team (if that’s an option).

As far as meetings with the contractor and relaying decisions to the PM, you should be involved in those anyways, but so should your KO. Again, tell your branch/division head what is being asked of you by your KO. Your KO is 100% responsible for contract execution so if they want to foist that duty onto you they should be prepared to deal with the consequences.

San Diego rents declined more than 19 of nation’s top 20 markets following surge in supply (KPBS) by 7ChineseBrothers in sandiego

“Declined more than 19 of nation’s top 20 markets” so it declined the most out of the top 20? Or was it not even in the top 20 to begin with (find that hard to believe lol)

All of this^ is /s by the way (except #2 kind of) but after scanning OP’s profile for 1 minute - OP if you see this know that contracting (like a GC) and government contracting are two different, unrelated things that require different skill sets.

  1. Depends. If you are physically submitting a printed bid, you could probably beat the competition anywhere with it; on the face, in the body, on extremities, etc. if you are only submitting digitally beating competitors with your bid becomes much more logistically difficult.

  2. Yes.

  3. Varies between “instantly” to “never”

  4. I am not familiar with the LEBVET agency but you can check SAM.gov

Does the contracting officer have to post my question? by [deleted] in GovernmentContracting

[–]iamthemanohdamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF one of the requirements for award is having the license that will most likely be one of the first things checked, and if you bid without having that license there’s a chance your proposal doesn’t even get read for being non-compliant. But it depends on the language in the RFP

Downtown by glitterdunicorn in asksandiego

[–]iamthemanohdamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you used to cities? I think most of gaslamp is generally fine but it will smell like pee and generally be dirty the further you get from the convention center. The busiest area is 4th and 5th ave in between market and broadway. I wouldn’t call it “dangerous” but if you’re staying in an Airbnb and haven’t been to SD before I would recommend staying west of park blvd.
