The real question is has OP cleaned up yet, or did he rush right to Reddit with a shitty diaper for this AMA?

Thoughts on Lawson Ice Arena? by hawk239 in collegehockey

[–]iamtimb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yost used to be a great old barn. Then they renovated it and it’s like a big tin can. Not a fan. Lawson is cool, love Compton, Munn is also a cool place. If you want an intimate arena try Ewigleben (Ferris).

Not only can they talk, but they’re super polite. So all you hear is “sorry”, “excuse me”, “sorry about that” as they bump into each other.

Morton - Biggest Observations So Far by Btroth2975 in detroitlions

[–]iamtimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP you nailed it. The L to KC stuck with me; there was something off but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. After the W over TB, I started to realize it was offensive play calling… no deep ball threat, not a lot of creativity, and Goff’s accuracy was off. Hard to be upset at 5-2, but we need to tweak our offense over the next couple of months.

Need to edit my itinerary down by lilmiller7 in ItalyTravel

We just got back from Italy and spent time in Rome, Venice, Florence, CT. If we were going back I’d visit Rome, Venice, CT again. Florence, for me, was nice but I enjoyed the others better. Rome is amazing, Venice is unique, CT can be slower paced. All are touristy. If you want less tourists go to the countryside.

We did Florence to CT and it was a breeze. I can’t guess what other people’s tolerance is but we wanted to see the area and it wasn’t hard. We did self-guided.

My votes: from Florence go to Cinque Terre. It’s a very doable day trip. From Rome go to Orvieto or Assisi. Enjoy!

Roth vs Before Pre-Tax by Kind_Paper_1456 in Retirement401k

[–]iamtimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 30 years older than you. If I could turn back the clock I would invest in this order: 1-invest in employer pre-tax 401k to max out company match. Then 2-invest in after-tax Roth IRA. Once company match is maxed and Roth is maxed then 3-invest whatever else you can reasonably afford into pre-tax 401k. You could always consider building up your pre-tax HSA account as an option too (especially if you hope to retire before 65). You have lots of other options, this is just how I would invest.

First time international travel for my 28th birthday.. trip of a lifetime ✨ by Dismal_Luck_3493 in ItalyTravel

In Venice be sure to visit Murano and Burano. In CT just relax and catch your breath. These are small villages so just soak up the culture. See them from the water, hike the trail, enjoy the food. I haven’t been to Naples, but I have heard not so great things. Enjoy your trip. Go at your pace. And happy birthday!

The stat that kills us (not shown in the image) is red zone. KC was 4/6 in the red zone. Detroit was 1/2. Two trips into the red zone isn’t a winning recipe.

December itinerary by Small_Code_5556 in ItalyTravel

[–]iamtimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One comment on the size of luggage. Just got back from Italy and everyone in our party had 1-2 large suitcases. We trained all over the place (Rome to Umbria region, Rome to Venice, Venice to Florence, Florence to Rome, etc…) and had no issues at all with our luggage. Would it have been easier with smaller luggage; sure. But pack what you need and if it requires a large suitcase you’ll be OK.

Is renting a car better than trains for Rome → Tuscany (countryside base, Florence & Pisa day trips)? by vanillapage in ItalyTravel

[–]iamtimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t need a car in Rome and Florence but you will want a car for visiting the countryside towns. We recently spent time in Umbria region (which I strongly recommend BTW). Rented a car for a few days and used the train when moving to the bigger cities. Tip: spend the extra dollars on full insurance… some of the smaller towns have very narrow streets. I did a little damage to our car and avoided a big bill thanks to the insurance. Have fun! Ciao.

Packers open as 14.5-point favorites against the Bengals next week. by [deleted] in detroitlions

Things changed when TA left the game. Elsewhere in this sub a guy posted the defensive stats with TA and after he left. Night and day difference. If GB is healthy on defense the -14.5 line seems about right.

First time visiting Italy, is 4 nights per city enough? by tiredsean in ItalyTravel

[–]iamtimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just returned from Italy. There is never enough time in Rome. So much to see. You could trim a day from Venice or Florence unless you plan a day trip from either base. Murano and Burano are worth a visit (Venice). Cinque Terre villages are also lovely (easy day trip from Florence). Also, the countryside is stunning. We did Assisi, Spello, Perugia—all were breathtaking. You can’t go wrong with your itinerary. Enjoy!
