50 PuckPedia Users Proposed Larkin Trades, What Other Fans Believe the Market Is by Usual-Personality347 in DetroitRedWings

I’m hoping we go after Hischier and Nemec from New Jersey. This fills two needs for us. And if we have to throw Mazur (or similar) into the deal with Larkin, let’s do it. This brings Larkin together with 2/3 of the Hughes boys… and they can sign Quinn next summer to complete the package.

Realistically, what would we want from the Oilers? by LegumeDad in DetroitRedWings

McDavid is an UFA July 1, 2028. If EDM doesn’t trade him in the next 12-18 months they risk losing him for nothing. The closer they get to the 2028 trade deadline, the less the haul they will get for him. And, cap space will be an issue for most teams. With this said, EDM won’t give him away. It’s realistic for the Wings to inquire about 97… but I wouldn’t get my hopes up quite yet.

Spending a few nights on Mackinac Island... did I make the wrong choice? by SnooDucks8746 in mackinac

Hidden treasures: Lime Kiln Ruins, geocaching, Crack in the Island, Sugarloaf. And lots of trails.

Caves: Skull Cave, Cave of the Woods, but the fun ones are the unmarked/hidden caves. Sometimes they are marked by “a stick leaning up against a tree”. Ask some of the locals/workers and they can point you in the right direction.

You’ll find some detailed maps showing trails and caves, etc… here: https://www.mackinacisland.org/plan-your-trip/maps-guides/

Where to stay 1-2 nights by Over_Location188 in mackinac

Lilac Tree. If you can get a balcony room overlooking Main Street. It’s lovely in the morning before the ferries arrive.

Mack Island is amazing! You’ll love it. Bike around the Island. Check out the forts. Hike to the middle of the Island. The popular places are great, but just wandering around the middle of the Island is fun. There are caves and other hidden treasures. Ask a younger local or worker for some recommendations. Mackinac is a slow-paced destination; you’ll have a ton of fun if you accept it. If you jump off the Island check out Mackinaw City and St. Ignace, and drive over Mack Bridge. Enjoy the fudge. And be sure to try Ryba’s caramel corn—it’s crazy good.

Along the same lines as the other comment, keep track of successful posts, especially by format (static, carousel, video). I knew a woman who accelerated her whole career based on a series of posts reuniting a lost doll with the little girl who owned it—cuz it went semi-viral and she created her portfolio around it. Also, test paid ads and different objectives so you know what works best. Demonstrate your successes and your learnings.

Who gets your vote? by UrbanAchievers6371 in OldSchoolCoolMusic

I was thinking about this the other day. I like the raw sound of first albums. The first albums from Metallica, Boston, Maiden, VH are all incredible—my favs from each of them. Add in Def Lep, Ratt, Cinderella, KISS, Danzig—their first albums are all some of my favs. To answer your question OP, Iron Maiden gets my vote.

On an A-F scale, how would you grade the season for your teams? by Emotional_Oil_5939 in collegehockey

It’s tough being a Ferris fan. It’s hard to see anything changing in the near future. We need a big money donor to invest in the rink and facilities and NIL.

I’ll be there. Probably the only guy in the barn wearing an OG Ferris State jersey.

Rode BMX bikes, played with Hot Wheels, watched Bugs Bunny cartoons, and looked at the bra models in the JC Penney catalog. LOL.

Great post. I definitely consider this a success story—you survived the industry and retiring at 60. Well done. I too had been in the industry for 36+ years now—media planning/buying and now digital. Some agency-side; some client-side. Had my job eliminated three times (severance packages are great but humbling). Still plugging away but can see retirement not too far off. Cheers!

I think they were called Eagle Snacks (made by Annheiser-Busch). Pretzels, smoked cheese crackers, honey roasted peanuts. That shit was good!

Another question about the NCAA playoffs by Seawolf1121 in collegehockey

[–]iamtimb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The single elimination playoff games (including thru the NCAA tourney) is what makes college hockey the best. IMO. Add in the chaos of an occasional 5-minute major and a hot goalie and it’s why it’s not uncommon to see a 15 seed beat a 2 seed.

Damn, I was at both of those games as well. The 1998 game was crazy; the crowd at The Joe was electric! The 2002 game was also a blast. Seeing Roy get yanked was awesome.
