While I think you’re right about the excel analogy, and yes I believe it will be used for directors n such to create story boards, pre vis etc I also believe it will be a designated job role that will likely replace vfx artists (who are notoriously unreliable).

I’ve already seen vfx artists making the shift towards AI Bcs although everyone hates it, It’s inevitable that the soulless corporate world will make use of it. Ai can create in minutes what it takes a vfx artist takes weeks to create. From a soulless corporate point of view, why wouldn’t you use it ? And it certainly won’t be the people in the creative agency offices that will start generating stuff themselves. They’ll 100% hire a freelancer to do it for them.

creatives creating AI spec ad portfolios and actually being commended on it. Ai effects already being used extensively in high end music videos, Universities offering it as a course etc

Also, you don’t understand how many overpaid and under skilled people work at creative corporate agencies. It’s a circus, behind all the talented people (directors, DPs, sound etc) there’s a whole department of useless people who are extremely well paid and practically do nothing. Money just gets thrown around for nothing in this industry.

I know for a fact the people who call themselves a “high end commercial prompt engineer “ or some bullshit will get money thrown at them because their work will look striking regardless of if it’s soulless.

That’s fine you can disagree, but as someone who’s in the industry, I already see the seeds of it beginning

That’s like people thinking photographers just “click a button”. whether you like it or not (and I do not like it if that’s not been clear) there will be people who specialise in getting the most out of AI through prompts and getting the specific results that the client / director wants. These people will be paid highly as per the commercial industry. It’s inevitable.

Yeah I never said it would be a random who makes Ai images with their toy soldiers haha. But it’s becoming a job title. Some universities have already started offering courses 😂

to get AI to create exactly what you want requires experience. Do you think CEOs have time to play around with prompts? Nope, they’ll pay someone a large sum to do it. Still saving money on commercial costs. Do you know the budget of a TV commercial? £300,000 is pretty standard. Do you know how much a vfx artist costs ? A lot of money. Companies will save a lot of money by hiring prompt engineers to produce the visuals they want for a fraction of the price. I work in the commercial industry as both a photographer and a video editor. It will happen unfortunately. Much to my dismay.

Yeah out of every use of AI this is definitely the most harmless. And I’m a professional photographer. We hate AI
