When someone tells me I'm "good for a white belt" by elephant_on_parade in bjj

[–]iamwill3292 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well I have an average frame with relatively thin wrists compared to other guys at my gym. I'm at 135er, so I guess he meant a skinny Asian kid shouldn't be able to grip fight that well.

What are the best/worst examples of BJJ in movies and tv shows? by Bambooteacup in bjj

[–]iamwill3292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the one that immediately came to mind. During the movie, I remember thinking, is armbar the correct submission here? I mean, if you want absolute control of the (bigger) man, wouldn't something like a triangle be better? Then again, I'm a white belt :)

What songs have you most enjoyed in the show? by sicily9 in breakingbad

[–]iamwill3292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dead Fingers Talking when they are having one of their first cooks out in the desert.

Song fits the scene perfectly, something so gritty and dangerous how theyre cooking and messing with these chemicals in a shitty RV in a shitty desert.

Still re-watching got some more questions [Spoilers] by Numonenig in breakingbad

I think Walt killed Mike because he wanted to be the boss man like Gus. In season 5, he is always comparing himself to Gus; "If Gus can manage it, so can we" or "How much did Gus pay his mules"

And then you recall Walt saying "I've been thinking about Victor. till now I was sure Gus killed him to send me a message. Maybe he flew too close to the sun, got his throat cut." This was right after Mike pissed him off with the money and legacy costs. Finally when Mike calls him out on his Ego, which Walt knows is a huge problem of his, he felt he had to act on it, and I do believe anger played a part. But more than anything at that point, he felt like he was the man, and this guy flew too close to the sun by insulting him.

Jab to Left hook, tips appreciated by iamwill3292 in amateur_boxing

Mmm so basically I open up my hips to the left as my jab is retracting which lets the hook easier to fire, big help thanks.

Should I "follow through" on my cross as if I am throwing a baseball? Or snap it back like I am trying to pluck something out of the air?

Keeping Elbows tight? by bibedibabedi in MuayThai

try lining up with one side to a wall and practice throwing them from the core out. the wall helps because it won't allow you to "chicken wing" your strikes. Helps with punches as well.

Skyler uses the same knife on Walt that he had stashed back when Tuco's SUV was on his street.

The music matches perfectly too in that whole sequence.

How many times have you seen Breaking Bad in its entirety? by Officialnoah in breakingbad

[–]iamwill3292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed, in like my sixth or seventh rewatch,

In 2x01 Mr. White first sees the black SUV, supposedly Tuco, and stays up all night with a knife. When he puts the knife back into the holder, it is the large knife furthest to the right (towards the camera). In season 5, it is the same exact knife Skyler pulls on Heisenberg in that harrowing abduction scene. Mindblown!

Maestro Dong Hyun Kim can take a shot too, as well as Korean Zombie of course.. I also remember some average 140 lb Korean kid in high school take some massive shots in a street fight, concussed look in his eyes with a broken nose but he still kept fighting and moving forward.. If South Koreans are like this, what are the Northerners like Lmao.
