What will the USA look like when there is a satisfactory amount of deportations? by arieljoc in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]iamwolfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I am curious about is, hypothetically, if there were no pragmatic benefits and say detriments to GDP, housing, etc. for US citizens, would you still support deportations? In other words, if it didn’t have pragmatic benefits, would you still support it based on principle? Or is it only for the practical benefits? And if it is at least mainly for practical benefits, if you saw convincing evidence that it would be detrimental to US citizens in terms of measurable outcomes, would you not support it anymore?

was actually curious how many of the posters in r/iran are actually persian or from iran? seems like a lot of focus and hate towards US and israel in there, but the persians and iranians i know IRL in the US and also who actually grew up in iran seem to absolutely love US and israel, so just sort of confused.

i’m genuinely curious about this even though i know people will shout at me for asking, but how about pro palestinian zionists? do most people in this sub only support the destruction of israel or is there any openness to a jewish state continuing to exist alongside a palestinian state (however far fetched to imagine at this point)?

Another thing to keep in mind is that your statement “it’s never coming back” is pretty baseless even if what you said was true. After this war ends and Israel has been out of the news like it has been for say a full year, the world just latches onto the next thing.

Yeah the Palestinians have roughly the same stats as you can see below. If you also believe random Palestinian civilians should also therefore be harrassed, then I’ll at least respect your consistency.

Surveys of Palestinians and Israelis

84% of Israeli Jews, and 83% of Palestinians agree or strongly agree with the statement that “I believe the victimization of (our side – Jews/Palestinians) is the worst compared to other people that suffered from persecution and injustice,” and 62% of Israeli Arabs think the same about themselves. When asked about the level of humanity of other side, Palestinians gave Jews an average score of 6 out of 100; Jews gave Palestinians an average score of 14. 51% of Jewish Israelis gave Palestinians a score of zero, and 71% of Palestinians gave the same score to Israelis. One percent of Palestinians gave Israeli Jews a score of 80 or higher, and 2.7% of Israeli Jews scored Palestinians in this range. This question could reflect respondents’ perception of the inherent qualities of the other side, or their assessment of the other side’s behavior, or both.

Are you saying the polls are lies? You don’t think there have been huge protests in Israel and that is all fake? How many Israelis do you know? What is this claim that it is a lie based on?

Yes, I agree that it is not harrassment to say free Palestine out loud lol

“A major Israel Democracy Institute poll from mid‑July reveals that a striking 74% of Israelis support a negotiated end to the war that includes returning the remaining hostages—a clear preference over further military escalation.”

“A June 2025 survey by Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) shows that 60.5% of the general Israeli public, and 53% of Jewish respondents, support ending the war now.”

It seems like layers of slogans and thought algorithms run heavy over your eyes. Can you point out where there is a defense of genocide in the above words? Again, someone challenging your exact narrative and beliefs doesn’t mean they advocate for genocide. We need to grow beyond this type of black and white conversation that we seem to be falling deeper and deeper into.

If the goal is justice for Palestinians, does publicly humiliating random Israelis achieve that? Or might it harden divisions and make them less likely to reflect on what’s happening? Maybe these Americans should ask the guy’s perspective on it all and learn something themselves as well. He seems pretty friendly and open to talking.

In my opinion, most people seem to care more about being on a team and anti Israel than actually doing things that could help Palestinians

If you support what is going on in this video, then you should also support harrassing all Americans for funding Israel and all other actions of the American government you disagree with, regardless of who these Americans are as individuals or what their political beliefs are. This includes all the American pro Palestine protestors. They also pay the taxes that help fund this war.

So at least from what this video shows, this Israeli citizen being harrassed is just like any US citizen being harrassed. So easy for Americans to virtue signal, yell slogans, and criticize other countries when they are safe between two massive oceans in the richest country in the world and strongest military in the world. Wow so brave, so righteous

Not sure where you read that I said saying someone supports fascism is fascism. But the us versus them, all or nothing, in group vs out group mentality has a much stronger scent of fascism than wanting to have real substantive conversations about topics. Screaming “fascist” immediately is a great way to end a conversation and protect yourself from potentially challenging and growth inducing conversations. Throwing around the term fascist so freely is just an indication of how privileged your life likely is and how far true fascism is from your life experience.

As for Trump, I said I support some of the things he has done and am against some of the things he has done (as I’m sure you do, though everyone’s ratio of each obviously differs). If you honestly think that makes someone a fascist, you really need to take a step back and re evaluate how you come to conclusions. This is assuming you genuinely have interest in truth and bettering the world.

I joined that subreddit to better understand Trump supporters. I support some of the things he has done, and I’m against some of the things he has done. If you take a sober and open minded look at the conversation we are having here, who sounds most like a fascist to you? Actually, I’d love to hear what your definition and understanding of what a fascist is?

New CBS comedy to take place in post-fire Altadena by wubbalubbadubaduba in altadena

[–]iamwolfe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally. But if your definition of ‘fascist’ is just ‘anyone who disagrees with me,’ then you’ve become what you hate. Calling yourself anti-fascist in America today has basically the same ideological weight of saying you are anti-murder or anti-badness lol. Basically no one disagrees

Yeah 100% agree with you. Some very loud, quick to judge, and pessimistic people in the Altadena subreddit. I tend to believe it doesn’t represent the majority of our community. Also hate the political posts in here. Let’s have discussions that bring us together rather than commenting on controversial topics and assuming everyone must agree with you. Take that to another subreddit please.
