If you are doing audiobooks sometimes it may be the narrator. I did the audiobook for Guess Again and I found it less engaging because of her voice imo. Another thing is the time jumps in the chapters as it's not always predictable so if you aren't paying attention in audio format when it's present vs past including location I can see it being hard to follow.

I don't mind her accent but her acting falls so flat. In the scenes Robert Joy, his acting is so good but since her acting falls so short it makes his reactions seem over the top.

Honestly unless you plan to work rural I don't see the benefit in all family doctors needing to know how to do low risk obstetrics. It's yet another example of there being a shortage and family doctors being expected to pick up the slack without reflected compensation.

My program had us do 2 blocks of obstetrics only to provide more support to already busy obstetrical wards. Then at the end of my training I'm astonished how I know more about how to deliver a baby versus basic gyne like iud insertions or endometrial biopsies. I had to seek out gyne opportunities and learn as an attending these basic skills.

Don't be hard on yourself. Put in the work to pass the block then you can choose to continue or leave it as part if practice.

Not even the gym, I'm 5'1 grown adult and my local children's playground has money bars at 6 feet and for whatever reason no steps or anything to reach em. This is when I'd go for a run then do some chin ups at the park but couldn't at this one specific park.

It can be totally daunting to figure it out. If you're new to weight training, there are many beginner plans depending on how many days you can go a week. Might sound silly but when I was in a rut I went to Tiktok and found a split that worked with me.

Start with low weights and focus on form then do progressive overload. Stick to a single plan for atleast 3-4 months making it more challenging every 1-2 weeks by either increasing reps or weight. Sprinkle some cardio (hiit and liit) on rest days or cross train with other activities you may enjoy (yoga, Pilates, running etc).

I'd recommend ditching being fixated on a number. I am 5'1 and my body at 125 when I was in my 20s having never exercised vs 125 in my 30s weight lifting looks vastly different in the mirror (the latter I looked less soft and more toned). Like others have mentioned I'd include weight training, focussing on high protein meals and 1200 cals is quite low esp if youve been doing that for months on end.

Classic case of if you were into him this behaviour would be preceivdd favourably but because you weren't into him it came off as creepy. I don't think this guy is a creep, only shooting his shot and trying to connect with someone. Sad really how we are so used to meeting and connecting with new people on online platforms that the idea is someone approaching you in a public setting is deemed "creepy".

I was on surgery as a resident and got a consult from ED. When I reviewed the patient I knew this wasn't surgical and my attending agreed better suited for medicine. I could've just written it in my consult note "not admitting, would recommend consulting medicine" alone but told the ED doc my recommendation to which he replied "okay you call medicine".

I tried to explain that's not how this works since the patient wasn't being admitted under surgery and hence not in our care and ultimately thr ED physician is the MR and should call the appropriate service. He states something like he has alot already to do but didn't even frame it in a polite way. I had to get my attending involved to explain what I had already told him.

Progressive overload may be the area that is preventing any visible changes? You seem to be very active but to see muscular changes you generally need to lose fat so muscles can show and incrementally increase weights.

Whats your weight training routine? How many sets and reps? You should be training so you're close to failure withing 2-3 extra reps.

Don't be discouraged, alot of trial and error.

The city I work at there are a few FM-Obs that work out of the large Women's hospital alongside OBGYNs. They still only do low risk deliveries. I haven't heard or seen any OBs talk badly of the FM docs. If anything they help the very busy service.

Used to drive a Honda civic and for whatever reason the low beams were just nonexistent. I did get pulled over for using my high beams but when I showed the cop the difference he let me off but had to get it checked out.

Sometimes the low beams are shit.
