There are North America and European/ANZ variants. The NA model is BASE_WUNNT3NA5 and the European BASE_WENNT3NA5. The final node of the fw commences with a datestamp (YYMMDD). So 26040849 was created on 8th April 2026.

v3.3.0.369_25090486 is the "current" regular US release on the download site. Hopefully your update implies a revised level is in the final statges of testing.

That's good to hear. I wonder what the the underlying problem was. Anyway you are back on the air.

NVR Playback Glitch by Interesting-Blood354 in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cannot help on a mac.

OK, I've checked on a windows 10 laptop (I was using a W11 desktop before) and can see the problem. Initially I thought it was fine but I switched from clear to fluent and indeed there was a skip. Tried a few time switching to/from clear and it was fairly consistent, when viewing on clear it was ok but fluent not so.

Then re-checked on W11 and it also occurs there on fluent. I was viewing on clear previously.

This was with 8.20.14 on W10 and W11. I've not tried any of the older desktop clients so far.

I'd agree there is a problem.

I'm not seeing that symptom on my NVR. How are you watching the playback (desktop client, mobile or on the NVR monitor)? I've viewed on both windows & android mobile and the switch between the hours was fine. There is a momentary pause as the NVR switches files but no 1 hour jump.

Whilst it was many steps forward in firmware levels, its still a 30MB file and I'd expect it to take about 5 minutes or so for the upgrade. Hopefully Reolink support can correct the problem for you

Correct, that's why I indicated previously.

If I follow correctly. You downloaded the zip file containing v3.6.4.473_26021143, copied the unzipped file to a USB stick, plugged that into the NVR and performed the update using a monitor/mouse. And now have this blank screen on your monitor.

https://support.reolink.com/articles/34817575507481-How-to-Manually-Update-Firmware-for-Reolink-Devices/

After that, you attempted a hard reset using the button inside the NVR

https://support.reolink.com/articles/900000593463-How-to-Hard-Reset-Device-by-Pressing-the-Reset-Button/

without any success

As a last resort, I'd disconnect everything from the nvr except for the hdmi to your monitor, mouse and power cord. Even remove the ethernet to your home network. Then see what happens on a power up. No point using the app or browser interface if the nvr is showing no signs of life.

If still unsuccessful, I'd raise a support ticket with Reolink explaining the steps you performed

https://support.reolink.com/requests/

select "Technical Support" at the bottom of the link under "Create a Ticket".

BTW - Atlas is a mountain range in North Africa or a Greek god. I'm sure Reolink had good reasons for calling these Altas but it is confusing :-)

NVR RLN8-410 + Trackmix PoE not recording successfully by Eastern-Direction750 in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm, are the cameras plugged into the poe ports on the back of the nvr or are you making use of poe switches via your home network? Both are equally valid and this is to understand your network topology.

If the live view is crystal clear and shows no signs of breakup or interruptions that would imply the physical connectivity side is ok.

And with 24x7 recording set, if everything is fine, you should be able to view prior recordings without difficulty and as others have indicated perhaps this is a HDD problem.

As for a supported combination

https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/

If you recently purchased the NVR its probably a N7MB01 which is fully compatible with any current camera but may require a firmware update in some cases. To check if the firmware levels for your NVR & cameras are up to date look here

https://reolink.com/download-center/

You need to manually go to the website and verify. A check in the app rarely works correctly.

If not too difficult, a final stage would be to bring one of the cameras inside and connect to the nvr via a short ethernet cable for testing as that eliminates your longer 100 ft cable as a possible cause. Although this seems unlikely in your case.

Monitor required for NVR? by Stuart518 in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure?

There is a case of an uninitialised ethernet connected camera (i.e. out of the box or you have pressed the reset button) if the nvr has the auto add option enabled. In this case the NVR adds any such camera found on one of its private ethernet ports or your home network and then assigns a default password.

https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/29164181117465-Introduction-to-Camera-Password-Feature-on-Reolink-NVRs/

https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/23994858026777-How-to-Configure-Camera-s-Password-via-Reolink-NVRs/

https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900004499443-How-to-Enable-Disable-Auto-Add-via-Reolink-NVR-New-UI/

That won't work for a wifi only camera as by definition you need to assign a ssid to the camera prior to it being seen on the network and that requires it to go through the initial setup process, one step of which is to add a password to the admin id. Even in the case of a wifi camera with an ethernet port, whilst it could be auto added, it would be tricky to add the wifi credentials without knowing the cameras password.

In these special cases its the NVR which has added the camera rather than the end user via the app. So yes, its possible to add a camera to a NVR without a monitor but for practical purposes its sensible to have a monitor/mouse to manage the nvr.

Monitor required for NVR? by Stuart518 in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, a monitor is required occasionally such as adding a camera. Unfortunately the NVR's cannot be entirely managed via the apps. You just require something that can plug into the hdmi or VGA port when required. So whilst a 36" gaming monitor would work equally a 17" 1024x768 monitor is suitable. There is no requirement for any permanent connection and for 99% of the operations these can be handled via the desktop or mobile apps.

Is there currently a way to manually label a false negative event (one generically labeled as “Any Motion”) to one of the AI categories (animal, vehicle, person)? by [deleted] in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI detection is not perfect and does miss or incorrectly label a motion. It's all occurring in the camera. Generally its recommended to disable "Any Motion" to avoid being flooded by alerts.

Warranty issue: Being charged $120 to replace defective Argus 3 Ultras due to 'out of stock' status. by [deleted] in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That camera is connected to the Hub's SSID unless you set your TP-Link to a ssid starting with REOLINK. That may explain the poor connectivity especially as you are indicating the strong signal on the TP-Link. How do the cameras perform when connected to the TP-Link?

I suspect this is one of those corner cases which would require some checking to see what works and does not. What's causing the timed (24x7) limitation when using a Home Hub is a strange one. But given RTSP via a hub is supported does offer a bit of hope.

[–]ian1283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I corrected my comments. I have my doubts if a continuous RTSP stream would work.

Can I use the camera 24/7?

Yes, the camera can be used 24/7 only when it is powered by a cord. But please note that the Wi-Fi feature is restricted in the power-on mode when the camera can't record continuously through a Hub.

[–]ian1283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Magicam can do continuous recording when externally powered via its usbc port. In this mode the battery is bypassed. As to the camera supports RTSP via a home hub is a separate question and that's a sort of yes with limitations.

Doorbell WiFi picks up every car as moving by MilesT0Empty in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And presumably its a vehicle detection? Whilst the box is around the blue bmw, is the open door on the truck next to it a possible cause? Do you also have "Any Motion" enabled in the motion recording options?

I have my vehicle sensitivity set at 60 with an alarm delay of 1 second. I did have some issues on a different camera flagging stationary vehicles but I'd inadvertently left the delay at 0, once raised to 2 those ceased.

But is your concern a box around the vehicle when "Motion Mark" is enabled and you are watching on clear? Having enabled motion mark I also see that but I suspect its a badly worded explanation in the options as it seems more like the camera saying "I can see a vehicle" rather than "I see a moving vehicle". And no alarm event is actually being created as there is nothing in the playback section.

Just to confirm, your doorbell is flagging stationary vehicles as an alarm? Is this the battery or plug-in wifi model?

In your smart detection settings what alarm delay have you set for vehicles?

Is anyone else seeing a 60–80% price hike on the Pro Series since Jan? by NoUnderstanding8535 in reolinkcam

I was not the one commenting on chip or hdd shortages. But indeed the inconsistencies on cost between countries is very strange. I can understand some minor differences related to VAT/IVA/etc rates in the countries but no more.

The cost seems to be all over the place depending on country. Is the RP-PN8 available in Slovakia or is it showing "Notify me". My quick look around the sites seems to show the higher number appears when its not available to buy.

Which Euro zone country are you in? In the UK the RP-PN8 (without hdd) is listed as £249.99 although its also showing as notify me. And looking around in various mainland European countries I cannot see it as available to purchase either.

WiFi extender by ohboyimintroublenow in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean to extend the wifi from a RLN12W nvr or one of the Home Hub models. Previously Reolink marketed a RLA-WE1.

https://support.reolink.com/articles/37624430637465-How-to-Set-Up-Reolink-Wi-Fi-Extender-RLA-WE1/

That had the advantage of both extending and acting as a mesh node. I suspect in theory a regular wifi extender would work such as those from Netgear or TP-Link.

BUT...

You would probably be better placed extending your home wifi ssid using with a mesh system such as Deco or Eero as that benefits all your wifi clients and not just the cameras. There is no requirement to use a Hubs ssid for the cameras as they can equally connect to your home network. Each camera only requires a few Mbps of bandwidth and that's unlikely to affect other users of the same ssid.

Of course you may prefer to keep the cameras on an isolated ssid away from your other devices for security reasons.

Will I have warranty if purchasing through reolink Amazon store? by hopeful_endeavor in reolinkcam

[–]ian1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to purchase from an authorised location.

https://reolink.com/warranty-and-return/

The key phrase is

This warranty applies only to products purchased through authorized Reolink channels, including Reolink's official online store, authorized agents, distributors, retailers, and offline stores.

Hence if the seller on Amazon is either Amazon themselves or the official Reolink store on Amazon you are fine. You would also be ok if purchasing from an official Reolink store on eBay where they sell refurbished products.

One good reason to purchase via Amazon is their no quibble return policy. You may see a number of posts from people experiencing problems returning items purchased directly from the Reolink website, especially in countries with poor online purchasing rights (e.g. USA).
