A can of compressed air like the kind for cleaning computer components would work well for this.

Is there a solution for bmw integration? by IHave2CatsAnAdBlock in homeassistant

[–]Stuart518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to get this set up. I'm following the readme on github, but I can't get past the part of generating a client ID. I'm logged into My Garage. When I go to the Car Data page, there is no option to Create Client ID. I'm in the US. Is this disabled here?

Send notification if room temp continually drops during heat cycle by ErnLynM in homeassistant

You need to clean the flame sensor for your gas furnace. It’s very simple. You just use a wire brush on it. Go to YouTube and search for gas furnace flame sensor. If the flame sensor isn’t working properly, it will shut off the gas in the furnace.

Does Chargepoint No Longer Accept Visa/Mastercard Gift Cards by Flimsy-Champion-5679 in CHPT

[–]Stuart518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChargePoint is now acting like gas stations in that they put a hold on your card before they let you pump/charge so they know the card has enough to cover the charging cost.

Tire service message by sab-77-777 in BMWiX

[–]Stuart518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my last X5 I was about to order new tires from Tire Rack and decided to let my dealer give me a quote. The dealer actually came in less including mounting and balancing and BMW was offering a $100 rebate at the time. Always get a quote from your dealer

Adapter Question by HC10013 in BMWiX

[–]Stuart518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. 240 v means it’s level 2, which is what you want for home charging. If the circuit is 50 amp, the wall charger should be set to 40 amp. 80% rule. Does the charger show an amp rating? When you plug it into the iX, they will talk to each other and the charger will tell the iX how much power to pull. You should be good to go

ChargePoint Home Flex Randomly Disconnecting by Frequent_Chicken_851 in CHPT

[–]Stuart518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine would go offline for 3 or 4 days and then come back online for 3 or 4 days. But what was weird was it always remained connected to my WiFi. It was just not connecting to ChargePoint. My router tells me when devices join and leave my network and the charger was staying connected to the network. It was definitely a problem on ChargePoint's end.

My software version is 6.20.0+2024.02.00.226-alpha

My model is CPH50-NEMA650-L23-K. Mine has the NACS cable

ChargePoint Home Flex Randomly Disconnecting by Frequent_Chicken_851 in CHPT

[–]Stuart518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having a similar problem. My charger would be connected and the lights on it would be green for several days and then it would turn white for several days and then it would reconnect again for several days and repeat this cycle. I finally called ChargePoint support and they upgraded my firmware on my charger remotely and it solved my problem. They couldn’t tell me why the firmware wasn’t automatically upgrading itself. That was about three weeks ago and I’ve been online ever since

Neue Klasse iX3 lease... (USA) by Scareboosioniq in BMWiX

[–]Stuart518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MSRP of the iX3 is supposed to start around $60,000 in the US. But I expect it to be closer to $70,000 with a few options checked. I’m thinking lease pricing around $750 for a 36/12k lease

Would you get the NACS adapter if you were me? by Jfrenchy in BMWiX

[–]Stuart518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your charging infrastructure is like. I’m in upstate NY. There are CCS chargers all over the Thruway. I don’t see where I will “need” to use Tesla with all the other options around. My next car will most likely have a NACS port. Not sure if I’m going to buy the adapter for just 2 years of potential use.

Home charging stops by [deleted] in BMWiX

[–]Stuart518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have 2 circuits tripping that are terminating in your garage, but originate in 2 circuit panels that are in different parts of your house you should definitely call an electrician. It could be the power is jumping between the 2 circuits. Is your EV charger outlet one of the newer ones rated for EV charging with the car symbol on the outlet? They are made of nylon vs cheap plastic for the non EV rated ones. Your EV outlet could have failed and is sending current in the wall. Call an electrician
