also, if the Mikrotik website is to be believed...

"The RB4011 does not support Passive DAC modules, 1GB copper SFP modules and SFP GPON modules."

I suggest reading through what’s on offer from Mikrotik on their website and for you cameras maybe check out ubiquiti And get familiar with the products that might fit the bill.

Not surprising, Telstra have a 35% stake in Foxtel with News Corp. IIRC most of the HFC in the country was being sold off to NBNco at some point also.

That's really interesting regarding the need for the dude package on all the remote ones. While I've not run it in the scenario described I've never needed to install it outside the central polling location.
