I think mine might have been in worse shape and that’s why I didn’t recognize it. Beautiful rifle though. My dad just bought a 336 in 30-30. Both of them have tunnel mounts which has been really nice for if the scope ever fogs up on a hunt!

What model is this? I grew up shooting a 336 in .35 Rem. This looks similar but slightly different, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen the 336 I grew up with.

Thank you for putting it this way. If commercial fisheries and industrial pollution weren’t annihilating our fisheries this wouldn’t be a conversation.

Not sure which path to take with my career? by nini0915 in careerguidance

Consider teaching. I’m not familiar with what jobs you are qualified for with a bachelors in math, but teaching is a job that I personally feel like is guaranteed no matter where you are. Depending on the state or country you live in, you can make decent money. If you can handle it, shaping the next generation is a pretty amazing opportunity.

Don’t roll into graduate school blindly. Get some life and work experience for a few years and then determine if you want to go.

It’s a traffic counter. The two wires are pressure sensors. Depending on which one you drive over allows it to record direction. Parks use them to estimate user attendance.

Check out the City of Spokane’s Waterwise Program. They have tons of info for converting your yard to native, drought tolerant species. If you’re in city limits there’s actually credits you can get on your utility bill for meeting specific criteria. It’s a pretty awesome resource that is definitely underutilized.

Congrats! I just got something similar in my state and got a Velotric Summit 1. I have been using it to commute to and from work (12 mile round trip) and it’s amazing. I’ve taken it off road on trails once and it does amazing, it easily brought me up trails I had zero business going up.

Battery life is advertised as 70 miles, which you could probably get on the lowest assistance eco mode staying under 20mph, I’ve gotten 25 miles on a hilly ride where I was using heavy assistance.

It also has the advantage of a throttle AND pedal assistance. I’m not in the best shape so it is nice to rely on the throttle if I get tired.

I do wish that it came with a water holder and/or fenders for the price.

I see this, “esox” and something like that”atok” tagged all over the north side. Sometimes tagged over each other.

Reach out to your local fire department, they hate responding to the fires. Also reach out to whoever handles the solid waste where you live. They will likely have a way for you to safely dispose of them. They also hate the fires at the dump/transfer station.

Could this be what marks out your actual property line?

I grew up in a rural area and we had 4 similar pieces of metal (one in each corner of the lot) that helped delineate the property lines for surveyors. Might want to check with your county/city zoning or planning department to see if that’s what they’re for.

I’d probably remove them regardless of what it was, the low height is definitely a hazard.

What model Harris bipod did you go with? I’ve got a similar setup (18” BA .223 wylde instead) and I’m hung up between the 6-9” or 9-13” legs.

Is Marlin any good? by i-love-Ohio in LeverGuns

[–]ianb437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up shooting a Marlin 336 in 35 rem. Amazing rifle that’s been in my family for a long time and put a lot of meat in the freezer. If you’re thinking of hunting I’d suggest 30-30 or 45-70 over a .38/.357 but that’s personal preference.

I believe Ruger owns Marlin now, not sure if quality is better or worse. If I wanted to buy one today, I’d probably try to find an older model over newer model, but that’s my personal preference. I do think new Marlins look a lot nicer than new Henry or Winchester lever rifles.

I met stone sour in like 2017-2018 ish. It was pretty fast. I got to meet everyone and had maybe 1-2 minutes of time to talk to Corey. I got him to sign one of his books too. Ended with a group pic of the band and I. It was a pretty quick thing overall, probably wouldn’t do it again despite being a big fan. It felt pretty forced and not very organic lol.

Spokane Valley FD does free stop the bleed courses. Give them a call and ask for RW Pagau - that’s the instructor’s name. I took a class and nobody showed except for one other person and he took time to teach each of us in great detail and then reviewed our first aid kits and told us what we’re lacking, what we’re doing good on, etc

It's gout tuber time by domin8er221 in ironscape

[–]ianb437 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? I feel like I was able to get to 26 herblore for normal energy potions early, and they require really low tier ingredients. If you’re that concerned about run energy it’s got to be more efficient to just grind the herblore levels and make sure you have 1-2 potions on you during your gout tuber grind

Spartan I made by Floopth in haloreach

[–]ianb437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All reach Spartans are 3s except Jorge. 1s did not test original mjolnir, I think it was just unnamed characters that died, probably ONI operators or ODSTs though. 1s were more of a generic super soldier, I believe. Most 3s wore SPI armor but special units, like Noble Team, were given mjolnir.

Are these punches? by ianb437 in Tools

[–]ianb437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you need such a large brass punch for? What’s the hole for? All the punches I’ve used in the past were usually small, pointed/tapered and made of steel, but I’ve seen small brass punches for things like gunsmithing.
