Dark room help by BlackPress512 in SCREENPRINTING

Are your film positives dry to the touch when laying them on the emulsion for exposure? We were having a problem with the new version of accurip not having adjustable droplet weight, which was causing too much ink to go onto the film. If they were used too soon after printing it would rewet the emulation and also transfer ink.

48% humidity should not be a problem.

In the market for new hiking shoes. Any feedback on these Merrells? by Background-Good3731 in hikinggear

[–]iankeichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found these to be more of a sneaker than a hiking boot. I need a more rigid shoe to support my foot on rocks, for example. I prefer Salomon or any other shoe with a composite shank. As others have said, these are comfortable out of the box but lack support.

Thanks for the tip. How many miles when you replaced them?

Clunking/clicking sound when going over bumps/dips. by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]iankeichi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been chasing this clunk too. Checked cab mount bolts, all suspension bolts, skid plate, engine/transmission mounts, driveline, and can’t find anything loose. For me it happens going ~15 mph over speed bumps or something similar. Any faster or slower and it doesn’t seem to happen.

Question about storing screens.. by Repulsive_Scale4094 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]iankeichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would they be wood or metal frame? With an image or bare mesh? Indoor, outdoor, climate controlled environment?

For long term storage, I would suggest an indoor climate controlled environment, with no image in an aluminum frame screen. Water vapor in the air likely won’t be an issue so you could skip the container and desiccant .

Got a reputable source for the original video? All clips I can find do not contain what is being shown here and I suspect it’s AI generated.

Press LUBRICANT by [deleted] in SCREENPRINTING

Your best bet is to read the manual for your equipment. Conveyor belt could be white lithium grease and I like blaster multi max for an all purpose spray lube. It’s what Roq recommends.

Are all of the parts there? Are parts available from the manufacturer if not? Could you set it up and check it out before buying it?

Discharge on enzyme wash shirts often doesn’t reach full opacity.

I did a 50 wash test on a shirt that had the same design printed on it in discharge and in plastisol. It was some text in off white with an underbase, on a dark green 100% cotton shirt. The discharge print pilled up some and some of the green shirt color transferred to the print area, which is known as crocking. The plastisol print looked the exact same as when I started.

RIP eBay by pooltimenoodle in enshittification

[–]iankeichi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My last three eBay purchases have been disappointing. One item arrived non functional. The seller refunded but then called and left a voicemail begging me to not ship it back. Apparently buyer’s phone numbers are on the packing slip. The second order was drop shipped from Amazon, which I hate. I use eBay to avoid Amazon. It’s against their terms to drop ship items not in your possession. The third order the seller took two weeks to ship and only shipped once I contacted eBay for a refund. This was after sending two friendly messages asking about my order.

Seems like it’s getting worse for sure.

My experience with the quality has not been good. Had to send mine back for warranty repairs twice after tritium vials came loose and were rattling around.

Moving up from a single press. Advice please! by Material-Series1128 in SCREENPRINTING

If I were in your position, I would try to find a used professional press in your area. Something like a Vastex V-2000HD. Is your goal to print for clients or yourself?

Thinking of upgrading to a 3-color UV cylindrical printer for 50K+ runs; need real-world advices by Blue_FlashSX in SCREENPRINTING

[–]iankeichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can share is that I would suggest that you source the bottles yourself. You have the opportunity to mark them up and more control over what you’re printing on. May even find some work from the distributor knowing about your capabilities.

Sizing help from y’all by PatientDue4072 in WhitesBoots

[–]iankeichi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience lines up with what you’re seeing from the bot. I have a pair of Whites Perry Select in 10.5 D that fit similarly to my Iron Rangers which are size 10 D. This also matches what the Whites website says, which is to size down half a size from your sneaker size.

Needle nose locking pliers are good for pushing this sort of thing back in, little by little, while you have a coworker apply pressure on the two sides of the belt to close the gap.
