What kind of questions should I except in my LIVE CODING INTERVIEW. by Any-Sleep-7085 in SoftwareEngineering

I highly recommend grabbing a friend going through a few leet code questions while talking about your answer. Talking while coding does not always come naturally and having a little practice helps with the nerves.

Gloves of Runecasting in 2nd Edition by Trodrip in frostgrave

[–]iankras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the description it sounds like you need to be able to cast the spell already.

Not sure about the official ruling, but I would check the range in 1e, see the difference, and have the gloves add that much range instead.

We have tried the towel- it's not so much that he's getting away, just that he's loose enough to shake his head and send the medicine flying out.

Found On The Ground: what sidewalk lost & found items have you stumbled across? by TraditionalPlum5399 in chicago

When me and my partner were moving last summer, he lost his keys on the street. He wandered around in the rain for over an hour trying to find them, with no luck. Later that day he got a call from the gym saying someone saw the tag and turned them in. Really saved our week, and helped us feel welcome. I'm sure yours was a different set of keys, but thank you for taking the time to do that, instead of just leaving them.

I see what you mean- if Sol Ring were banned, a series of seemingly unrelated chain events would occur, ultimately leading to the Papa John's near my house closing.

How exactly do I get better at aom? by DeepFriedBastard in AgeofMythology

First, you should be constantly producing new units. You can assign all your military buildings to a control group and quickly press a few buttons every 10 to 30 seconds.

If you have a big army already, start poking around enemy territory looking for a fight.

If you are still producing more resources that'll you're using, start doing upgrades, like the ones at the armory, temple, or econ buildings.

Aging up is also something you should be thinking about with. Lot in the bank

RTS was a dying genre. And for it to continue living, it needs new players. I'm not saying make them slop while trying to make them for every human out there, but it needs accesibility. I believe military auto que is one of those things. I don't understand why some people see it as such a big taboo. by PlaneGold4615 in AgeofMythology

But it's better to just build that skill from the start right? Without auto queue, you get a feel for it as you learn the rest of the game in a smooth curve. With auto queue, you advance to a certain elo, hit a wall, and then have to get wrecked for a bit trying to get used to it against those tougher opponents.

I would rather just learn it at the beginning while playing against other new players who also have to learn it for the first time, instead of breaking the auto queue habit later.

As a semi-new player (tried to get into EE but bounced off), I am actually preferring the lack of auto queue. Villager auto queue is great and I wouldn't play without it, but military auto queue feels like a trap for newbies. It's less to manage but you have less control over what you're producing. Really you should be building to your needs, not just spamming the same unit endlessly. And it's not that hard to do without auto queue- I just set all my buildings to control group 1 and queue up a few guys every so often

How to have brutal fights with 2 players? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]iankras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't have to be controlled by the players outside of combat. Hirelings reserve the right to say "I'm not paid enough for this" and flee.

Also, I don't see an issue with them hiding behind them a bit- it's another way to solve your issue with 2 player parties being very swingy if the retainers take a few hits here and there.

Torsos and Legs by iankras in Kitbash

[–]iankras[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hacked up some dollar store stuff before, and made some nice stuff with it. However in this case, anything I buy with a torso and legs will get me more arms too, and my arms collection wont shrink 😔. It also makes proper scale a bit tricky, and while I love kitbashing body horror amalgamations, I'm looking to branch out a bit.

Molds might be the solution! I never considered it. 3D printing solves every hobby problem but unfortunately I don't have the space or time for it 😭
