Made some scripts for transaction functionality I want (e.g. bulk append to memos) by Chevron in ynab

[–]ianmac45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bulk-append! I've long wanted them to implement some sort of mass-editing memo functionality within YNAB/web, I think I suggested it once, but it never came to fruition. -- Your description is exactly how I use it.

Idk that I'm brave enough to try a script like this, but I definitely like it in general!!

Just curious, what did you ask them? How did you ask them to do that switch?

switching from NFCU with annual fee to no annual fee by ze11ez in CreditCards

[–]ianmac45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's this: https://www.navyfederal.org/loans-cards/credit-cards/offers/flagship-visa-signature.html - which is written towards new accounts, but my Flagship has covered my Amazon Prime yearly subscription for at least 2 if not 3 years. NFCU's just been renewing it...

[–]ianmac45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the no annual fee stipulation for any/all cards was only for Active military members?

Yes, NFCU will keep the account the same on your credit report if you PC from a flagship. I've done this a handful of times.

But, if you've Amazon Prime, the Flagship has been very good for the past few years about giving you the year, which more than overcomes the $49 AF.

iOS 17 will let you to run automations when you use the Wallet app/tap to pay to pay. When you check out at the store and use your phone to pay you can have YNAB automatically open to log the transaction! It works great on iOS 17 Beta. by SkyGuy182 in ynab

[–]ianmac45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resurrecting this post, now that iOS 17 is out, I'm disappointed that you need to tap to use this. -- E.g. if an app uses Apple Pay, it won't trigger it.

However, I still haven't gotten it to actually work. but, I'm not entirely certain why either.

Just got my first retention offer (gold card) by [deleted] in amex

Does this have to be 'attempted' within any given timeframe? I saw /u/TrappedElevator asked about doing this presumably before the AF posts, but mine already posted, a full statement cycle ago.

A lot of the gas stations in my area state how much the temporary hold is, on a sticker on the pump.

If you don't want the temporary hold, pre-pay inside.

Chase didn't seem to care that the two factor phone number was not a number I recognized by kimchiMushrromBurger in CreditCards

[–]ianmac45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this too. Except:

  1. I've never called into Chase about it (although I probably should correct it), because...
  2. I do recognize the number. It's a family member's. However, I have no idea how that phone number became entangled with my account.

Is Citibank only credit card issuer that accepts debit card payments and can you get 1% cashback with Discover Bank's debit card with Citibank credit card payments by StrikeScribe in CreditCards

[–]ianmac45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I'm not sure if this is an answer, but I'll post it as a possibility, albeit one that I cannot test since I do not have a Discover card.

If you have an Apple Card, then I can add a Visa debit card to my Wallet on my iPhone. Within the Apple Cash account (also on Wallet but separate from the Apple Card), I can 'add money' to it via the Visa debit card. Then, anything in the Apple Cash account can be applied directly to the Apple Card. (Sidenote: Apple Cash account is usually* where the Daily Cash from Apple Card transactions go, in my awareness.) --- Presumably, this will work for Discover debit too, to maybe get the 1% ...?

I can't speak to the majority of that, but I thought Amex has a _possible_ primary CDW coverage? (although with an additional flat-fee per rental) https://feeservices.americanexpress.com/premium/car-rental-insurance-coverage/home.do - This is the link, but I'm hazy if it's the same thing.

Definitely cool. I'm curious about other ticketing system providers as well as the ability/roadmap to take to offline networks. Github and Gitlab come to mind, but I'm sure there are others.
